Campaign Story
My father (Ernesto Castillo) had been diagnosed with CKD (Chronic Kidney Disease) – complication due to his Diabetes – just last December 2019 and he needed to go through dialysis at least twice per week. The cost of the surgery to install Fistula in his arm for his dialysis hit us that hard. We were able to pull it through but most of our savings have been wiped out and right now is having quite some issues on how to fund his twice a week dialysis.
Then another unfortunate incident struck our family. Just this first week of February, my father fell on his bed while sleeping. He fractured his left hip and it needed surgery (Partial Hip Replacement). Together with this, he has an infection in his IJ catheter and needed to be replaced since his Fistula is still not yet ready to be used for dialysis. He was admitted to the hospital last February 09 due to his blood infection and for his surgery. We are waiting for the clearance from his Cardio as well as Neuro doctor (could not get clearance due to the infection) so that the surgery can push through. While waiting for the infection to be clear, he is still undergoing dialysis and the IJ catheter had been replaced. If this hip replacement surgery will not be done, he will have a hard time walking and will feel pain on his hip every now and then.
So, we created this campaign to get funding on my father's partial hip surgery. As advised by the doctor, immediate surgery is necessary to not aggravate the injury. I am trying to exert all possible effort to gather enough money to pay for my father’s hospital bill as well as for his dialysis and maintenance.
As a son, I will do everything for my father, for him to be OK and be always in good condition. I am knocking in your kind heart for this. Every donation, no matter what amount, will help reach our goal of supporting my father's surgery and weekly dialysis. Proceeds will be used to pay for my father's hospital bill, his dialysis and for his recovery.
He is currently admitted in Manila Doctors - just let me know if you need more information about this.
My father will be celebrating his 66th birthday this coming April and this will be a great gift to him.
Please also include him in your prayer!
