Assist SA Softballer, Ethan Buckley get to the U18 World Cup in New Zealand

2 X SA Player (Baseball & Softball), Ethan Buckley has been selected to represent South Africa at the WBSC U18 Junior Men's Softball World Cup in Palmerston, New Zealand from 22 Feb to 1 March 2020.

Ethan's passion and commitment to his sport is commendable, leaving him and his parents very little time for fundraising for all his activities and achievements.

Ethan plays Baseball and Softball in the Summer months and plays Field Hockey in the Winter months. He works tirelessly to achieve and maintain very high standards. With his hard work paying off, he gets selected to represent his Region, Province and Country. Ethan has National & Provincial Colours in Baseball & Softball, and Provincial Colours in Hockey. He is also part of an Elite MLB program and recently attended the Elite European MLB Cadet Camp in Regensburg, Germany.

SOFTBALL - Ethan plays middle infield for local softball club, Devonshire Rovers. This team competes in the highest men's league in Cape Town. He learns a great deal from his senior teammates. Ethan has also represented the U17 Western Cape team twice, which competes in the Annual Summer Games held in Gauteng.

With all these achievements, finances become extremely "tight", as most of his National & International Tours are self funded. The Family has had to come up with over R 100 000, in the past 16 months for all the tours.

The Buckley Family would appreciate any form of donation to help lighten the financial load.

Softball is fortunate to receive some funding assistance from Government, however the Association requires a payment of R5000 per player, per tour.

Ethan recently represented SA Softball at the World Cup, African Qualifiers in Nigeria, R5000 is still outstanding.

There are always loads of additional expenses, which do not get mentioned in the attached letters, but will also need to be covered. (Exit Camp, Transport, etc)

Should Ethan NOT come up with the required funds, he will be REPLACED.
