Campaign Story
Due to the OVERWHELMING nature of the devastation across Australia, and not knowing where to start, I have started THIS campaign specifically to help FUND LOCAL CHARITIES in the Bega Valley. 100% of donated funds (after this site deducts their cut being the only fee), will go to LOCAL BEGA VALLEY PEOPLE I know.. and here's the latest on how bad the Bega valley is.. in the words of one of my best high school friends and one of my closest friends still.. 1)our volunteer firefighters, without whom we would be .. even more devastated and thanks to our illustrious leader he who shall NOT be named as he just promotes himself, funding to these organizations has been slashed or non-existent. The local heroes fighting to save their homes, their neighbour's homes and the animals are the ones that will be given money.. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-australia-50887982 People like my cousin Phil and his wife who saved his and his neighbour's homes .. bar one straight up fighting fires on their own, no RFS assistance for almost 2 weeks straight.. now health issues from the toxic smoke may arise.. :(
2) local emergency needs for Cobargo through Denise Food, water, medical supplies and simply maybe a cup of tea!
3) local WIRES carers (through Denise and Phil) who personally know foster carers who also have lost their homes.

Woohooo.So grateful.. so despite the Coronavirus knocking the fires off the news.. they are STILL HAPPENING.. YUP STILL...YOU HAVE GIVEN:$200 to help rebuild the Local Cobargo wildlife shelter..$400 to Denise (my friend in Cobargo who lost her home)..$228 to local Bega community. . . . .

Is been ongoing for almost 3 months... Bega 2. . . . .

Despite being in the middle of the Cobargo fires, right next to my best friend's house in Cobargo, my indestructible ute of 1982 vintage SURVIVED the flames.. it came through the inferno.Small things to. . . . .

Update posted by Lianne Britten at 03:49 amDear followers..THANK YOU ..Prayers for a few days respite have been answered. Bega's temp dropped from 42C to 12C overnight. We received 2 mls rain (nothing but better than nothing) and the temperature drop has lowered the immediate intense and catastrophic fire danger for a few days at least.we are. . . . .

Be aware that the links to the live ABC news broadcasts show traumatizing images of hundreds of dead animals, and others injured. Please do not watch with children
