“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world".

-Nelson Mandela

Dr. GM McCrary College is an independent school, strictly designed for Dropouts and Matric learners that’s unable to surpass the challenges of exams. We serve the ages 17 – 21, educating, restoring, developing, and training the youth of today for the leaders of tomorrow. Despite the challenges of South Africa’s youth educational, unemployment, dropout, and drug usage; we believe there’s hope for each of them. No situation is impossible to restore.

We are empowering 200 youth take them from their current environment. Then, relocate them to reside on campus for a full 2 year of Educational Training.

Having 200 youth in our care will ensure our training and developmental training for our students, which will be impactful. The goal is not to have hundreds of students. However, is to make certain that our scores for academics are high and each youth have a great start in their fields.

STATEMENT OF NEED

Dr. GM McCrary College is strictly for High School Dropouts, especially matriculants. Our target is ages 17-21. Brief background for the need of DrGMMC, in 2016 there were 1067075 learners in grade 10. Only 400761 passed matric. So that is a pass rate of 37.56%. Basically, only 385 of learners that were in grade 10 in 2016 passed matric in 2018.

There were 800800 students who registered for the NSC Exams, only 172000 qualified for further studies at a University. Therefore, just over a third of the learner who wrote matric qualified to go to university. This was considered as a bragging point for Basic Education. However, for us it’s a set up for failure. The ratings increased only because the score requirements were lowered several times.

PROGRAMS AND EDUCATIONAL TRAINING

While serving the youth from all Townships in South Africa, we bring them to the Campus in Edenvale South Africa where they will reside. Dr. G.M. McCrary College primary commitment is to minority and low-income families and youth. The school’s goal is to help each future leader to succeed in a reputable University either being in South Africa and or as an Exchange Student in United States of America. DRGMMC, is committed to developing and sharing its vision, programs, and resources with the local Townships and Providences to expand hope for the future.

We have a structure of (1) One Year of Matric then (1) One Year of College Preparatory Training and Vocational Education. Once completed, if by chance the students desire to further their education. Our Connection Department will then assist with Universities Applications, Recommendation Letters, VISA & Passport Documentations for Students furthering Education in other Countries.

Your Contribution is a Tax Write-Off and our Accountant Firm (Khumalo and Mabuya Chartered Accountants) will ensure you obtain your Certificate of Donation.
