Campaign Story
My brother Nash has been diagnosed with a Steven Johnson Syndrome (SJS)
What is SJS?
Stevens-Johnson syndrome, also called SJS, is a rare but serious problem. Most often, it's a severe reaction to a medicine you've taken. It causes your skin to blister and peel off. It affects your mucus membranes, too. Blisters also form inside your body, making it hard to eat, swallow, even pee.
How it Started:
Oct 11, 2019 Nash was discharged from the hospital after having his hemorrhoids removed. His doctors prescribed him with a few medications to heal. But, a week after taking the prescribed medicines, he started to have flu-like symptoms and painful red rashes all over his body.
20th Oct, my mother had to rushed him to the hospital as he is starting to turn black.
Days before his confinement, he only thought that it is a normal flu, only to find out that it is a life-threatening disease.
Nash entire body is now covered with blisters, rashes.
Complication:
Nash gets flu, difficulty in eating, moving around, painful skin (due to peeling), and recently eye problem.
Underlying Cause:
We are awaiting for the test results as to which specific medicine have triggered SJS as he has taken a number of medicines during and after his hemorrhoids operation.
Financial Support:
As of writing this today (30th Oct), Nash is still in the hospital for treatment. And we are in need of financial support to pay for the hospital expenses. I am raising a fundraiser to help my brother survive and recover from this rare disease. I am also helping him to pay the medical bills. But looking at my brother's situation, he will be needing more time in the hospital to be treated. I am knocking on your doors to help Nash. If you are unable to donate, please send us your prayers and well wishes instead, it means a lot to Nash.
