Campaign Story
#OneforKaycie
Hello Everyone,
My name is Khristine Zervoulakos Chua and I was diagnosed with Stage IV Breast Cancer with Bone mets (updated from Stage III a)
Back in July 2018, I felt a lump in my breast. I had myself checked and underwent a breast ultrasound with the impression of a Solid Right Breast Mass - BI- RADS 3 on 07/18/2018. Two days after I had a Mammogram with a Bi-Rad 0 impression. Both of these didn't confirm whether or not I really have a breast cancer.
It took me several months before I underwent a mastectomy. On May 14, 2019, a mastectomy removed the whole of my right breast. Diagnosis was INVASIVE DUCTAL CARCIOMA STAGE III - Breast Cancer.
Biopsy showed that I have more than 10 lymph nodes positive for tumor.
ESTROGEN RECEPTOR ASSAY (ERA) - POSITIVE
PROGESTERONE RECEPTOR ASSAY (PRA) - POSITIVE
C-erb B-2 (HER-2) - 1+/ NEGATIVE
I was then referred to an Oncologist to start my chemotherapy the soonest time possible. She recommended me to undergo laboratory tests (not yet done) - (Total cost is Php 17, 067 based on cost slip requested from the hospital)
- Whole Body Bone Scan
- 2D Echo
- Liver Ultrasound
- Breast Ultrasound
- Chest Xray
- CBC
- Creatinine
- Total Billrubin/DB/IB
- SGPT
- Alkaline, Phosphatase
- Calcium, Total
Right after the laboratory tests; I will have to undergo 8 sessions of chemotherapy then radiation.
Chemotherapy (8 sessions/every 21 days cycle) - Estimated cost is Php 15,000 per session = Php 120,000
Radiation (30 days) = Estimated cost is Php 1000/day = Php 30,000
Keeping up with the expenses is really challenging as I do not have any savings to cover the financial demands for me to do the series of laboratory test and the start of the chemotherapy & radiation.
I humbly ask everyone for a little bit of help for my cancer treatment. I do not usually ask for help but this time I am in need of help. Any amount you will give will be greatly appreciated.
With your financial assistance and the grace of God, nothing is impossible. Thank you so much for the prayers and support.
