Last August 30, my wife gave birth to baby Lawrence Gavin. He was expected to see the world on November 26 but came out 3 months earlier.

It broke our hearts when we could not hold baby Lawrence after birth since the doctor and nurses had to take him immediately to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) because of his delicate condition. What breaks our hearts even more is seeing the tubes and everything connected to baby Lawrence, yet we cannot do anything but leave taking care of him to the doctor and nurses.

My wife and I have waited so long for baby Lawrence. We have been trying to have a child for 5 years. Then 2 years ago, my wife got pregnant. When we found out, we were so excited. But things did not turn out well as we learned from the ultrasound that the baby did not have a heartbeat at 9 weeks. We were devastated back then.

We work at a preschool center because we love children. My wife would feed the children, change their diapers, teach them to wash their hands before eating and brush their teeth afterwards, be at their side when they have their nap time and play with them.

As teachers we are not earning much. Our original plan was for my wife to give birth at the hospital that does not charge much and is near our residence. In fact, that fateful day when the water of my wife ruptured she just wanted to walk to the hospital to save on cost. The hospital examined her but we were told that they could not accommodate us because they did not have any vacancy at their NICU.

Doctors estimate that baby Lawrence will have to stay in NICU for around 3 months. Hospital bills are piling up and our savings have been wiped out.

Baby Lawrence gave me Hope in life, and showed me the true meaning of what Love really is.

I would like to reach out to you for financial assistance. Any amount would be of great help to baby Lawrence Gavin. Prayers are also appreciated and welcome.

Medical bills of baby Lawrence from Aug. 30 to Sept. 27 has already reached Php1,018,062 or arout USD20,000, an average of Php35,000 a day or around USD670.

Thank you so much for helping baby Lawrence Gavin.

Day 19

Update posted by Luis Kenneth Ongelico at 03:19 pm

It is already the 19th day of baby Lawrence in the NICU. They have inserted a peripherally inserted central catheter, which is a form of intraveneous access, that can be used for a long period of time. They also did a cranial scan where they discovered a grade 1 hemorrage. . . . .
