This is Raffy Vergara also known as Raffy, Paeng and Fifi. He is a very good friend to a lot of us. You might have met him through a common friend or two and in the course of that meeting; he might have entertained you, made you smile and even made you laugh.

Raffy is a very sociable and approachable person. He knows how to converse or spark an interesting talk, even if it’s just a stupid topic…in short ma boka sya.

Unfortunately, last August 8, 2109 Raffy felt an acute pain in his abdominal area. He thought it was just gas and shrugged it off; he did take antacids to relieve him of the pain. His condition however did not improve. In fact, it has worsened. He then started throwing up, he was unable to eat and the pain became unbearable. By then, he was rushed to the ER for the first time. He was given medications to address the symptoms but it was to no avail. He was then rushed to the ER 3 more times before finally being confined at the Makati Medical Center. In MMC, many tests were done and the doctors found out that his appendix was inflamed, infected and was pushing against his intestines causing him to throw up and not eat. It was resolved by his doctors that he needed an operation, so an operation was performed. After being deemed ok for discharge, he went home but his condition still did not improve. He was still throwing up and complaining of severe pain. He was again re-admitted on August 31, 2019 and is now being prepped for another surgery for FULL OBSTRUCTION OF HIS LOWER INTESTINES.

The family has already spent nearly PHP 700,000 on his medical expenses. As dear friends of Raffy and on behalf of his family, we are knocking on the kindness of your hearts for any kind of assistance that you can spare. First ER incident on August 8, 2019

The doctors thought it was just a simple problem of gas and acid reflux, we all know that initial medical diagnoses are usually conservative.

Another ER incident on August 13, 2019, now he needed to be confined at Makati Medical Center but was discharged on August 14, 2019

August 20 rushed to the ER again and now he was diagnosed with an inflamed and infected Appendix and needed surgery and was discharged on August 25

This is his bile coming through his NGT from his stomach.

Unfortunately he is back at Makati Medical Center, possibly for another surgery. By now you will notice that he had already lost a lot of weight.
