Campaign Story
August 29 (Thursday) Mama had a severe headache and vomitted so we brought her to the nearest hospital (Unihealth Paranaque). The doctor ordered a CT scan and the finding was Acute Aneurysm. ICU confinement was necessary but there was no available room that time so we had to transfer her that evening at Pope John Paul II Hospital in Las Pinas.
Mama was conscious when we arrived at the ER of Pope John Paul II Hospital. We can still talk to her however she had intermittent headaches.
August 30 (Friday) 3pm A CT Angiogram was done and her condition was still the same. We waited that day for results but it did not come immediately.
August 31 (Saturday) 1pm Mama is in ICU when we met the neurologist. He discussed the diagnosis and the next steps. When the doctor stepped out, Mama asked, “bubuksan yung ulo ko?” Afraid that she might be worried, I told her “Hindi Ma, pero may papadaanin sila sa ibang part para gumaling ka, relax ka lang, ok lang lahat”. I followed the doctor outside the room to ask for more details but minutes later, I saw Mama having seizures. I couldn't bear to see it longer that I had to step out of the ICU and burst into tears.
The neurologist told me that Mama needs operation for the aneurysm however the hospital is not well equipped for the procedure so we were recommended to transfer again to another nearby hospital - The Perpetual Help Hospital in Las Piñas.
August 31 (Saturday) We transferred that night while Mama is asleep (as she has to be still because of her critical condition) with tube on her nose and mouth to help her breathe. We went straight to the ER and then to the CV-ICU.
After another series of tests, CT scan, CT angiogram from August 31 to this day, Mama is still in the same condition.
Doctors said Mama's operation + hospitalization may cost around 300k-1M. But this is it, I don’t want to transfer her again and take anymore risk. My heart is crashing seeing my super strong and active Mama in that condition.
Today, September 3, is the day, her supposedly brain surgery will be done finally at 3PM. I'm praying deeply and asking for more prayers for my Mama - Cynthia Velasco de Asis, may she have a successful operation, fast recovery and be fully healed.
I am also fervently seeking grace from the hearts of family, friends, colleagues and others who might be reading this for any FINANCIAL help.
This is the hardest challenge I’ve ever been so far. But I believe that my faith is bigger than this.
Prayers and financial assistance would be greatly appreciated. May the good Lord bless you all.
Claiming God’s mercy. Thank you all. ❤️🙏
