Healthy Heart For Mimay

Almira June, or Mimay as we fondly call her, is an 8 year old girl who since birth has a heart defect called Truncus Arteriosus: Type II (http://www.chfed.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Truncus-Arteriosus-1.pdf). To describe briefly, it is when a child was born with his/her artery not branching out/dividing properly into the aorta (which transports oxygenated blood) and the pulmonary artery (which transports the deoxygenated blood).

For years she has had this, but given her delicate condition, it has caused her to have limited activities and exposures to many things. Beneath these challenges, she remained to have grown up as a fine and pleasant kid. She loves to draw and color, and loves the My Little Pony cartoons a lot.

Her family, together with us her extended family, wish to continue enjoying the gift of life in Mimay, but the cost of it is really tough as well as the continued care expenses.

This month, on August 19, 2019, she will be undergoing a cardiac catheterization procedure which costs around Php 200,000.00 (about USD 4,000), and on August 26, 2019, she will be undergoing an Open Repair of Complex Congenital Heart Defect surgery which costs around Php 1,000,000.00 (about USD 20,000.00). These costs are attributed to the procedures, room and doctor's fees. The medicines and continuing care are not factored into these yet.

We hope that through this GoFundMe fund, we will be able to help her have enough for the procedures as well as bank on for continuous care. She has younger siblings whose needs have to be attained too, that is why extra resources from this Fund will be very helpful and highly appreciated.
