Mr Natsir runs a volunteering project in his organic garden and Nature school in the small village of Rembon, Tana Toraja, South Sulawesi, Indonesia.

Natsir really cares about local children's education, many of them, including himself when he was younger, cannot afford to go to school and are forced to work hard to provide for their families. This is why Natsir runs a free school program for them.

Natsir believes in simplicity, sustainability, community empowerment and education.

Volunteers come here to help him in his organic garden where no pesticides, fertilizers or chemicals are used. Plants are grown and harvested naturally. Also his ducks and chickens live free and happy, eating naturally. This is something that is getting more and more rare in western countries where intensive farming and agricolture are leading the way.

Natsir grows coffee, cocoa, a large variety of fruit such as banana, mango, papaya, coconut, jackfruit, dragon fruit, pineapple etc, vegetables, beans, nuts, turmeric, ginger, medicinal plants, peanuts and more.

Natsir doesn't sell his products, instead he opens his garden to the community. People are free to come and take whatever they need. Also, people from surrounding areas and even very distant villages come here to learn from him, share skills, tecniques and knowledge about growing plants. They are encouraged to take seeds and plants to their gardens and grow different varieties. Many visitors are inspired by the volunteering project too and they set up similar projects in their villages so foreigners can come and experience the authentic Indonesian lifestyle.

Natsir encourages the philosophy of eco tourism, sustainable tourism and community based tourism.

Natsir is very humble, genuine and lives a simple life with the goal of helping others in any way he can, inspiring people to do the same and share what they have with the community and those in need.

Volunteers have the unique opportunity to teach English to local children at Natsir's Eco school. Children are eager to learn and ask you all about your country and culture. Volunteers also organize rubbish clean ups, educate the children about plastic pollution and share their knowlegde about eco friendly lifestyle.

The money raised will go towards:

-funding education of local underpriviledged children;

- two 5000 litres water tanks for the garden, as during the dry season many plants suffer and die;

-two coffee grinders for Natsir's family and community;

-a water pump that will take water from the river bank that will be filtered and distributed to the neighbourhood's gardens;

-food safety certificate to be legally able to sell Natsir's chocolate to local hotels and businesses in order to provide a stable income to fund the projects;

-restauring the bamboo building that will be used as a kitchen for Natsir's wife, Diana, cooking workshop to empower local women, share cooking & baking skills and sell natural products to visitors.
