Everyone knew Denise as a bubbly, energetic and intelligent girl that all people could jive with. She was a strong woman inside and out. She was sporty and brainy with her witty banters and well thought of opinions about important matters. She had big dreams for her career and family. She was an Accountancy student before she shifted to International Studies since she eagerly shared that she wanted to be a Diplomat someday. Sadly, she underwent an emotionally and physically exhausting battle within the past year.

August, 2018 was when she and her partner lost Thirdee, their unborn child at 8 months. They knew that Thirdee wasn't breathing anymore when Denise had her first check-up first week August. She had to undergo normal delivery.

After 3 weeks or so, she was experiencing migraines. Denise and her family didn't look much into it as she was normally experiencing migraines in the past. Months passed and her headaches were getting worse and worse, they decided to see a Neuro/Psych doctor since they thought that it was only depression. The doctor said that her problem was neurological and not psychological. They had her brain checked through MRI with contrast and saw bad news. She was diagnosed with Astrocytoma Grade 2. She had fluids and tumor in her brain that added pressure to her head and had to be relieved ASAP so they confined her on the same day, April 15, 2019 and scheduled the surgery April 22. The doctor removed the fluids and got a specimen of the tumor to study if it is benign or malignant. They couldn't remove the tumor right then and there because she would have died during the operation.

April 27, she got discharged. The study made for the samples from her brain would have told what treatment she should have gotten.

May 19, it was a regular day for the family. They thought Denise was just sleeping. When they tried to wake her up, she never did.

It was the darkest moment no one has ever dreamt of experiencing.

Denise slipped into coma. She was rushed at St Lukes QC immediately. She was getting the care she needed, however, the expenses piled up and the family had to pay PhP500,000 for 5 days confinement in the CCU. She was then transferred to East Ave Medical's ICU, but still under her doctor.

The 3 weeks that she was in coma showed how her body deteriorated. Her whole body got bloated; fluids and blood came out from her swollen head surgery stitches. Her organs one by one got weak until her heart started having cardiac arrests. There was nothing that the doctors could do with the state of her body.

She was barely a month in the hospital when she passed on June 15, 2019. Just like that. Our Denise was gone.

We are knocking into your hearts to help her family in raising funds for her hospital, memorial and funeral expenses.
