Hello Everyone and thank you for taking the time to read about my endeavor.

My name is Pamela, I'm a single mom who has overcome so much adversity in my life and I'd like to give back, to the environment and to our elderly and disabled. My goal is to live tiny and self-sustaining while traveling across the United States to be a Medicare Advocate.

Let me tell you a little about how this endeavor came to mind. Three years ago I was contacted by a company that seen my resume online and who paid for my Heath and Life Insurance Licensing, I obtained my Medicare License as a result of that blessing. Unbeknownst, to me I was completely unaware of the way that health insurance and Medicare in general actually work for our elderly and disabled. Since obtaining my License I have realized that 90% of the Medicare recipients I have come into contact with, do not know their rights nor what they are entitled to. Our elderly and disabled are paying high premiums with co-pays on top of the initial fees medicare takes monthly, even though these people have paid into the system their entire lives. Many have plans and still cannot see the doctor or pay for medications even with triple paid insurance. While I was "selling" insurance that our elderly had already paid for, I realized that most insurance agents did it specifically for the money and any thoughts of the Medicare recipients were absent as long as they could sell a high premium plan and receive a nice "Bonus", that did not sit well with me.

Now let me tell you about my experience. I was written up and "coached" multiple times for enrolling my clients in $0 premium plans. I was told, I'd never succeed and that I needed to change careers because the goal was to make money not to give it away. I once got "coached" by my boss, for telling an 85-year-old gentleman to call me back to get enrolled. You see the gentleman was driving and a little hard of hearing, he was on his way to a doctor's (Specialist) appointment that was going to cost him a $50 co-pay on top of the $165 monthly premium he already paid monthly as well. I was able to find a plan in his area with a $32 premium and only $10 co-pays for specialist and no copay at all for visits to the primary care physician, of course he wanted that plan, he deserved the best possible plan available. I felt it would be safer for him if we waited until he was done with his appointment and stationary, as an enrollment can take up to 45 minutes to make be sure that medications and physicians are covered and to read all the legalities properly to a client. His plan wouldn't go into effect until the first of the next month, so it wouldn't have been of any help to him at this particular visit. He agreed and demanded my direct line and extension, which meant he trusted me. I knew that moment, I needed to advocate for people. My boss actually yelled at me saying "Haven't you ever talked on the phone while driving?" To which I replied, "I have, but I have not conducted business nor would I subject a client to a car accident just to get an enrollment". He sent me to "coaching". And I quit a week later.

I do not want to sell insurance, I want to educate our elderly and disabled and help them receive the care they NEED not gain a profit off of our most needy.

This lack of knowledge was across the board rich and poor and it is unfair.

What I need the money for:

I plan to convert a school bus into a tiny home so that I can travel from state to state and do community forums to educate and advocate. The entire conversion is going to cost a little over $8000 and I need some help.

Once again thank you for taking a moment and if you find it in your heart to donate I wholeheartedly thank you.
