Hi, I'm Lia, nice to meet you and thank you for coming to find more about my Mayan Immersion Dream.

In 2016 I started to work in collaboration with a few local Mayan communities. Taking people to discover their way of life, eat some amazing food and learn more about how they are preserving the jungle and the animals surrounding them.

After 2 years working and exchanging with them, I realized that we could develop other tours; other ways for travelers to interact with them and discover more about the Mayan Culture.

This is how the idea of 2 new tours came to my mind, and for the last 6 months we have been working together to perfect an experience that everyone will enjoy and that always respects the Mayans.

We are now really happy to offer our Mayan Cooking Class and 24h Mayan Immersion tour, but this is not all. We are working with our mayan friends on artisanat and are starting to produce 2 hand bags and have a lot more ideas that could be develop. All products are being hand made and with locally sourced and sustainable materials.

Observing some models of success around us, we have realized that the best way to make ourselves known and reach a maximum of people is to open a store in a tourist area. Coincidentally the ideal place has become available and is waiting for us. It is located in a developing tourist village, close to restaurants and natural attractions that currently have a large number of daily visitors.

The money we are trying to raise is going to go towards:

  • the first 3 month rent + 1 month deposit (30 000 mxn pesos)
  • legal business startup costs (25 000 mxn pesos)
  • material for manufacturing the Mayan Immersion Product (7 500mxn pesos)
  • Promotion material (7 500mxn pesos)

I have already invested everything in to this project and I am at the point where I just need a little bit of help to get it going.

I think that in 3 months this project will be sustainable. I have experience in this kind of work, I’m great with people and I can manage a shop.

I will do most of the decoration. I want to recycle and up cycle, so I have started to stock most of the material we need. Now it’s just a question of all good quality paint, some decoration and but most of all a lot of elbow grace and few weeks.

I will be sharing on social media this adventure, so you will be able to see what we are doing on a daily basis and of course share with me your ideas and energy.

The idea behind Mayan Immersion, is that in time we will able to support more Mayan families that want to live in jungle, carrying on a traditional way of life and selling their art and products at the shop.

That’s why I’m asking today for this little boost, and give you the opportunity to invest in Mayan Immersion.
