A group of primary school students is about to embark on a journey that will take their designs and instruments to the edge of space. No, not a soft toy imaged against the curvature of the earth - there's been plenty of mascots and even a car! What we want is to sample the atmosphere at ever increasing altitude and even record the changes to microbial life if it can be found on a trackable column of air during the ascent with the instrument pack sending images and data throughout the entire journey. All participants involved can monitor the launch no matter where you are in the world. A link will be provided for real time data.

I wanted to take a class of children in the STEM clubs I run in schools in the Metropolitan area of Adelaide and apply their coding skills and design skills to effect change for their sustainable future and gather knowledge. I am about to try something old, something new. A high Altitude Balloon launch Instrument pack design and programming launch. The upper atmosphere has been a place to view the earth as a whole, but when it comes to microbes and currents that influence life on earth, it is not very well monitored in our ever changing climate.

So come on in and You can share in the educational experience on the ride of a lifetime!

Each instrument in the payload pack has a job to do. Each student will need to code a program to receive information from those instruments and record and / or transmit that information.Although this may sound hard to do, the students already know how to code with icons in a
