Tatay Marcos Road to Recovery

Ernesto (Tatay Marcos) a senior citizen who is a loving husband, a caring father and grandfather. He was a great provider to his family and he helped hundreds of expats here in the Philippines. including Norwegians, Swedish, Americans, and even helped fellow Filipinos to work overseas. He retired last year at the age of 79 and was recently diagnosed with Hospital-Acquired Pneumonia and he is currently in the Intensive Care Unit fighting for his life.

Last January, he was hospitalized due to hemorrhoids. He was confined for a week. He was discharged, with full hope that he would recover fast, but little did we know that he acquired Pneumonia in the hospital. It was not diagnosed right away. It progressed to the point that his lungs were so infected and he couldn’t breathe without life support anymore.

Prior to this condition, he already had multiple strokes and had been hospitalized several times due to Myocardial infarction. He also lost most of his memories due to early signs of dementia.

But despite all his struggles with his condition, we see that he is fighting. Although he’s asleep most of the time, he would occasionally open his eyes and would try to move his arms. He would respond with mumbled words whenever we would ask him how he is.

He’s been in the hospital for 2 weeks now, intubated for a week. The hospital bills are getting out of hand since he is in the Intensive Care Unit. There is not enough medical care support available for Senior Citizens in the Philippines besides the 20% discount in some services. Even so, the means to support his full recovery is at great expense.

Our Tatay has a huge heart for those in need, but right now, he's the one who needs your help, and we are desperate for financial support. We will keep on fighting along with Tatay and we would appreciate any form of help. Thank you so much!
