I “Heart” You Baby Chloe

Hello everyone. This is my 1-year old niece, Chloe Kaitlyn Balucay, daughter of my sister Mylah and Paul.

Baby Chloe is such a cheerful, loving, and talkative baby. She likes playing with her 4-year old sister, Paulah; laughing with her sister, tell stories to her mom, and roam around the house. Amidst this, she’s often sick.

After a number of tests, it was determined that she has Small Perimembranous Ventricular Septal Defect, with Moderate Pulmonary Valve Stenosis. The recommendation to correct her condition is to undergo heart surgery to patch the hole in her heart and remove the excess tissue blocking her pulmonary artery.

The Philippines is a beautiful country, but unfortunately, getting proper medical care is very expensive and not readily available. The doctor recommended her to have the surgery by next year (2019), before she turns 2. She needs the surgery soon or her condition will worsen.

We are pushing ourselves out of our personal comfort zone by publicly telling her story. The cost of the operation is almost Php600,000 or $12,000, and we’re a long way through.
