Let disabled people enjoy running

Alaptörténet:

Borika és én már majdnem 27 éve ismerjük egymást. Ő a húgom. Tavaly karácsonykor valami különleges ajándékot szerettem volna adni neki. Mivel Borika nagyon szeret a szabadban lenni, szereti a sebességet, szeret utazni, illetve imádja, ha emberek veszik körül, arra gondoltam, hogy megajándékozom egy futóversennyel, ami nem más mint a 2019-es Spar Budapest Maraton. Borika még soha nem vett részt hasonló rendezvényen, így azt feltételeztem, hogy biztosan élvezni fogja az egészet. Az ajándéknak nagyon örült és múlt szombaton ( 02.03.2019.) az időjárásnak is hála, sikerült először kipróbálni a “sportkocsit”. Teszt jelleggel futottunk egy kört (5km) Budapesten, a Margit-szigeten, ami annyira bejött neki, hogy a végén azt kérdezte, miért nem futunk egyből 2 kört :)

A probléma:

A maraton előtt kisebb-nagyobb versenyekre fogunk elmenni Borikával, teszt jelleggel, hogy lássuk, hogyan érzi magát az egyes távokon, mennyire kényelmes neki a kocsi, hogyan kell majd megoldani a frissítést útközben...stb., illetve így lesz egy rávezetés is a maraton távra. Az első ilyen állomás a 10km-es táv lenne a budapesti Vivicitta versenyen, április 14-én. A tervek szerint a Suhanj! Alapítványtól (http://www.suhanj.hu/ )béreltünk volna speciális 3 kerekű futó kocsit a versenyekre, viszont múlt héten, amikor próbáltam előre lefoglalni a verseny időpontokra a járgányt, problémába ütköztünk. A Suhanj! sajnos nem fog tudni biztosítani számunkra ilyen futókocsit a versenyre, mivel korlátozott számban érhető csak el az eszközkínálatukban.

A kampány célja:

Ezen a ponton jött az ötlet, hogy összekötném ezt a személyes ajándékot, amit Borikának szántam, egy kis adományozással és ajándékoznánk a Suhanj! Alapítványnak 2db futó kocsit, hogy a jövőben még több sérült gyermek és felnőtt részesülhessen hasonló élményben. Az egyik eszközt a szeptemberi maraton után adnánk át az Alapítványnak (Borikával ezzel készülnénk addig a versenyre), a másikat pedig azt követően, amint megérkezett Magyarországra.

Utánanéztem, és egy olyan kocsi (link ), amit a Suhanj!-tól is lehet bérelni 800 GBP körül ( kb. 292 ezer HUF) mozog, és Angliából lehet beszerezni. A két “sportkocsi” ára összesen így 1600 GBP (kb. 590 ezer HUF) lenne. A kampányból megmaradt, “fel nem használt” összeget szintén az Alapítvány kapná meg, támogatásként.

Ütemterv:

1. 2019.04.13. Legalább az egyik futókocsit használatba tudjuk venni Borikával
2. 2019.04.14. Vivicitta 10km (link) - Első verseny Borikával
3. 2019.05.25. K&H kerékpáros nap 30km (link) - Második “verseny” Borikával
4. 2019.09.29. Spar Maraton 42km (link) - Borika karácsonyi ajándéka :)
5. 2019.09.30 - 10.31. A két sportkocsit átadjuk a Suhanj! Alapítványnak

Fontos:

Az 1. futókocsinak 04.13-ig kellene megérkeznie, hogy a versenyen már ezzel tudjunk robogni a célig. Így az elsődleges cél az lenne, hogy legalább az egyik kocsira (800 GBP + 50 GBP szállítási költség) összejöjjön a pénz legkésőbb 04.02-re. (4 munkanapba telik a szállítás de nem szeretném teljesen kicentizni a rendelést.)

Nyomonkövetés:

• Igyekszem mindenről up-to-date tartani a társaságot, azaz Titeket
• Ha megérkeztek a kocsik, tudatni fogom Veletek
• Minden verseny után röviden beszámolok majd, hogy hogyan sikerült

In a nutshell:

My disabled sister, Borika, got a marathon as a Christmas present from me that we are going to do together. A special pushchair is needed which we would have rented from a foundation, however due to the lack of available chairs they are unable to provide one. So I decided to run a campaign and to donate 2 pushchairs to them in order to prevent this from happening again.

The story:

Borika and I have known each other for 27 years. She is my sister. I wanted to give her something special last Christmas. Borika really likes speed, being in nature and being surrounded by many people so I thought to give her a running competition as a Christmas gift. We are going to run the Spar Budapest Marathon in 2019. Borika has never attended a race like this before, therefore I assumed she would love it a lot. She really liked the idea and we were finally able to try the “sportchair” out last weekend (02.03.2018) thanks to the weather. We ran 5K at Margaret Island in Budapest which she really enjoyed. When we finished the lap she said “Why don't we go for another round Balázs? I want more!” :)

The problem:

We are planning to attend a few competitions with Borika as a test to see how she feels during the shorter and longer distances, how comfy the chair is for her and to see how we need to handle eating and drinking on the fly at the marathon. These “test runs” are also great preparations for the marathon. Our first milestone is going to be on the 10k event of the Vivicitta Spring Half Marathon on the 14th of April in Budapest. The plan was to rent this special pushchair from Suhanj! Foundation (http://www.suhanj.hu/) but we hit a road bump last week when I tried to book the pushchair in advance. Unfortunately Suhanj! is not able to provide a pushchair to us because they have a limited number of rentable equipment, all of which will be used by the members of the foundation and other disabled children or adults during the race.

The goal of this campaign:

I got the idea at this point to combine this “personal gift” that Borika got with a little donation in order to give 2 pushchairs to Suhanj! Foundation. This would help prevent others who would also like to share the joy of running with disabled people from facing this very problem. We are aiming to hand one of the pushchairs over to Suhanj! as soon as it arrives from the UK (so Suhanj! and its members will be able to start using it immediately) and the other one after finishing the marathon (we need one chair to practice with Borika).

I have done a bit of research about the pushchair (link) and it is exactly the same as the ones Suhanj! Foundation provides at the moment. (We have tried such a chair before with Borika). It costs around 800 GBP so the price of the two pushchairs would approximately be 1600 GBP. Any surplus money will also be handed over to Suhanj! as an “extra” donation.

Our schedule:

1. 13.04.2019 We get access to one of the pushchairs
2. 14.04.2019 Vivicitta 10km (link) - First “test run” with Borika
3. 25.05.2019 “K&H kerékpáros nap” 30km (link) - Second “test run” with Borika
4. 29.09.2019 Spar Maraton 42km (link) - Borika’s Christmas present :)
5. 30.09. - 31.10.2019 Handing the 2 pushchairs over to Suhanj! Foundation

Important:

The first pushchair should arrive by 13.04. so we can use it on our first “test run” at Vivicitta's 10k event. Therefore our primary aim is to collect the first half of the money (800 GBP + 50 GB shipping costs) that we can use to buy one of the pushchairs for the first event. This means our first target should be reached by 02.04. (I asked around and the provider needs 4 workdays to send the chairs to Budapest).

• I will try to keep You up-to-date as much as I can.
• I will let You know if the pushchairs arrive.
• I will post updates after every competition that we complete with Borika.
