Campaign Story
Hello Friends, Animal Lovers,
This is Monkey, one of the community cats that I feed at Onan Road, Singapore and who's about 10 years old. He appeared about 3-4 months ago and now calls our street his home. Last Friday (March 8th) , I noticed that he stopped eating and it quickly escalated to excessive drooling the next day. He's a feisty cat but on Saturday, he came to his usual corner and didn't stop meowing as if he's in horrible pain and asking for help. It didn't take long for me to see that he needed to be sent to the emergency vet clinic. Past forward to a few hours and with the help of Miss Felicia, a long time advocate of community cats in Singapore, we were able to trap Monkey and she brought him to an emergency clinic.
At this point, Monkey's been diagnosed with severe gingivitis and stomatitis. He also has kidney issues and electrolyte imbalance, and an open wound on his right elbow that needs to be stitched up. His initial test results are not good and since some of the values are unreadable, his condition might be chronic according to the vet. They now have him on kidney medication and fluid therapy (to flush out toxins in his body, like some sort of dialysis, and will also help with the electrolyte imbalance), and he will also undergo teeth scaling.
The initial estimate for his treatment is between SG$1,000 - SG$1,500 and he would have to go to cat boarding once he's discharged to make sure he gets his post-treatment medication until he's ready for release (he will also get sterelised!). I would like to ask your help in raising this fund. There are about 12-15 cats that I have been feeding for more than three years now, and a bit of additional funds for Monkey will be of big help. I can only get the final bill from the vet after all procedures are done, but I will share an update once it's available.
The vet's contact details are on the letter head of Monkey's preliminary tests should you need to call and check on his whereabouts. Thank you, and please do not hesitate to DM me at run.like.forrest / princejulienn if you have questions or need additional information regarding Monkey's condition.
Sincerely,
Marie & Monkey

Thank you.
Update posted by Marie Aquino at 11:28 amThank you all so much for your support. We greatly appreciate your donation. Monkey is the second cat at Onan Road who crossed the rainbow bridge. The first one, Shadow, got hit by a car a few months back. Monkey’s passing is particularly hard on us because we thought and. . . . .
We're almost there!
Update posted by Marie Aquino at 02:43 amHello everyone - thank you for all the support and donation toward Monkey's medical bills. We are now just $244 shy of our target (I have included the $100 fees for the night Monkey was trapped and sent to the emergency clinic). Please share our story and fundraiser link if
