Hello, we are

Naoki & Michiko Ozu. Our company’s name is Ozu’s Organic Matcha Pastry LLC.

We are a husband and wife team. Naoki is a mechanical process engineer with 20

years of experiences working for popular Japanese corporations such as Hitachi.

He likes football (soccer in America), rock music and bringing his ideas to life.

Michiko studied English Literature at Columbia and Psychology at NYU. She

enjoys drawing and writing poetry. We believe we can merge our diverse knowledge

and skills into something new and meaningful for people around the world.

About Us : "Ozu’s Organic Matcha Pastry is a Gourmet Food Online Bakery (Healthy European-Inspired Japanese Bakery). We use high quality ingredients and Organic Matcha from Kyoto. When people buy our products, they can still enjoy sweets without worrying about the ingredients (artificial and preservatives) unlike most items that are being sold today. Our cakes, cookies and bread are also packed with special care. We believe that food should be healthy, delicious and pleasing to the eyes. Our pastries will spread Japanese culture to the world and promote healthy habits.

Our online bakery will go a step forward in creating healthy Japanese baked goods by only using Authentic Matcha from Kyoto & inspired by popular European pastries. We put special care in our baking process by selecting fine ingredients. Extra time will be used on the presentation and packing processes. We hope to do this by packing our pastries with ribbons or fabrics from Japan. There will be a different design at special days. This can influence people to start a collection or even lead to other creative outlets. Customers will not be getting only a boring piece of bread.

Risk and Challenge:

Some of the risks and challenges that we may face involve packing, shipping and cost of ingredients. It requires special care and attention to transport fresh food locally or internationally. We have to find different ways to pack our pastries to maintain freshness and appearance based on the locations of our customers. We want to address these problems by doing research on different packing techniques. We can also learn by ordering from other companies during different times of the year. We hope we can expand our business and have enough financial resources to ship internationally.

Another obstacle is the high cost of Kyoto Matcha and other fine quality ingredients. We can overcome this problem by contacting the manufacturers directly. We will try to work out a wholesale agreement with them or advertise their companies on our pastries with tags like “Made with Kyoto Matcha.”

We started our business in April 17, 2018. Our goal is to raise $5,000. We will need your support and the funds will go toward ingredients, packing materials, testing and costs of maintaining our online bakery.

Campaign:

If we cannot reach the goal, we apologize to all of our investors. Our business will be slow down but we will continue to search for sponsors. We can offer a refund to those investors who desire. However, we will promise to not give up and continue trying our very best to the people who continues to support us. Let's promote healthy eating habits together!
