Medical support for Aida Guevarra

We have written to tell you our story and to help us help our Mama -Aida Guevarra. Our mother was whole giving birth to my sister . But in 1997, when i was born, she suffered a stroke which left her half body paralyzed. Life has been extra difficult since then. But despite her condition, her difficulty in walking and moving around, her disability.. we admire her tenacity in life very much. She is the most hardworking person i know. Nagtatrabaho sya mula madaling araw hanggang gabi.. magbenta ng Avon, Natasha, Boardwalk, MSC... nagluluto ng ulam, leche flan, kakanin.. nagbenta ng mga pasta, bra at sapatos, nag-aangkat ng mga paninda para sa isang maliit na tindahan. Ginagawa nya lahat yun habang sinusuportahan kame sa pag-aaral at sa aming ikabubuhay. Isa rin syang magaling na housekeeper, laundry woman at cook sa kanyang pamilya.. hindi ko mabilang ang dami ng paraan naiisip nya para lang makakain kme ng 3beses sa isang araw.. kahit may mga pagkakataon na hindi talaga mairaos. Noon una ay magkatuwang sila ng aking ama na isang messenger, pero nun naglaon ay umalis ito at namalagi na sa probinsiya.

Taong 2015 ng matuklasan na si Mama ay may Breast Cancer (Invasive Ductal Carcinoma). Taong 2018 ay sumailalim sya sa surgery (Mastectomy) at tuluyan tinaggal ang kanyang breast at inalis din ang ang bukol na tumubo sa kanyang kili-kili at sa kaliwang dibdib nya. Tumanggi sya sa chemotherapy dahil sa kakulangang pinansyal at sa hirap na maglakad lakad at pumila upang humingi ng tulong sa PCSO or mga pulitiko.

Today, she has gotten worse. She is swollen from head to foot and new nodes have appeared in her neck, her armpits and are painful and oozing. She has difficulty sleeping and breathing and is always in pain. She has been taking herbal meds, juices and oils. Even buying fruit is a luxury for her. We plan to have another surgery to excise the tumors. She will need expensive antibiotics and strong pain medicines to keep her pain at bay. She has gone thru all sorts of pain: physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, relational and economical pain. Despite that, she continues to work and cook.. she continues to fight .. she continues to hope... and we admire her for that.

We are thankful for people who have helped her in any way, who treated her like family and gave her love.

Today we ask for a little bit more. As we ourselves try to ease the pain and suffering, we plead still for your prayers. Not just to heal physically but more so everything else that is broken in our family. God knows the hurt each of us has gone thru but in this ordeal, we acknowledge that He is still sovereign.
