Our twins Grisha and Masha had to go through a lot from the first days of life. The son has one of the most severe congenital heart defects - Fallot's tetrad, he was given a disability. And now her daughter's life is at stake.

Masha from birth, bowing her head to the right shoulder. The doctors said that it was a congenital torticollis of the newborn, prescribed massage, manual therapy, electrophoresis, and assured that in a few months everything would pass. But the treatment gave only a temporary effect. Ultrasound did not reveal any abnormalities. When my daughter was a year and two months old, she began to stagger while walking, and one eye began to mow. At the end of September, we were referred for an MRI scan, and Masha was diagnosed with a 4 cm brain tumor. When the doctor showed us the image on the monitor, my husband and I could not hold back the tears. But then there was hope that the operation would help her daughter, because, according to the doctor, the tumor had clear contours and could be completely removed.

On October 16, Masha was operated on at the Research Institute of Oncology in Rostov-on-Don. After the operation, a neurosurgeon came to us and said that it is impossible to completely remove the tumor, because it is too close to the brain stem.

Recovery after the operation was difficult, Masha screamed at night: “No, no!” I do not know what she was dreaming about. Only on the eighth day, she sat in bed. And when she got up with difficulty, she could not even take two steps by herself. I started crawling on all fours, then I learned to walk again, holding my hand. And now my daughter walks uncertainly, often loses her balance and falls.

Masha's tumor turned out to be malignant, she is growing again, this month has already increased by 3 mm. This is a lot. A daughter can be saved by proton therapy, which only affects the cancer cells. We are ready to help in the Proton Therapy Center of the Berezin Sergey Medical Institute (MIBS, St. Petersburg). This is the only clinic in Russia where such treatment is carried out, and it is extremely expensive. We don’t collect such a sum in our lives, and the delay is deadly for our girl. Please save Masha! Give her a chance!

Help Masha

Update posted by Tatyana Sergeeva at 09:45 am

Masha has a malignant brain tumor - diffuse astrocytoma. Surgical removal of the tumor in this case is impossible because of its location. Proton irradiation is required to eliminate a tumor. The main advantage of this type of treatment is the ability to deliver maximum doses of radiation to the
