Traumatized Aspergers Sufferers Urgently Need Your Attention and Help.

Will You Be There For Them?

If trying to have a normal life when you are suffering from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) is hard, it is even harder people like us (those with Asperger’s) having to battle with social and communication issues during PTSD therapies too.

Let's Raise Awareness For Them...

I have created a website called TraumatizedAsie.com ro raise awareness. In the front page of the website is a short video that will tell you more about how this website can help those affected, and it will tell you a little bit more about me too.

Imagine Living a Life Like Theirs...

There is a general recognition that people with Aspergers are more likely to experience traumatic incidents such as bullying, harassment, verbal abuse, sexual abuse and emotional abuse. This increases the likelihood of them suffering from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder).

With Aspergers comes the difficulty with communicating and interacting with other people. So, the Traumatized Aspie have very few places to let off steam. Recent research has shown that Traumatized Aspies tend to sweep everything under the carpet and just pretend everything is fine.

They don't even realize it is something that need addressing.. well at the time of the first traumatic event, that is. In time though, as they experience more traumas, there comes a point when they can't take anymore and then they experience what psychiatrists call "the eruption and collapse". They literally re-experience all the past traumas all in one go, and then collapse in exhaustion.

And There Is Just No One There For Them...

Seeking therapy is tough for people with multiple traumas. It is only in recent years that the complex nature of multiple traumas have emerge in the research scene. Most therapists are not researchers, and so are generally ignorant of the impact multiple traumas can have. It is often assumed that it's just the same as bigger traumas, so we can just deal with them one by one, right? NO!!!

After multiple traumas, the sufferer would attempt to make sense of their experiences. Why is it happening to them not others? This then leads to deeply ingrained belief that they are somehow at fault, nobody understands them, and no one can be trusted. With strong self-loath, low self-esteem, and inability to communicate freely with with therapist or friends and family, depression sets in.

Unemployment rate is very high, which means there's usually more time to self-loath, ruminate on the traumas, and hating themselves even more. This negative cycle then takes the sufferer down the route of alcoholism, drug abuse, self harm, suicidal ideation and even committing suicide. So, even if the Traumatized Aspies managed to voice their need for help, more often than not, they get a therapist who simply haven't a clue about their low self-worth and the challenge of building a trusting, safe and secure therapeutic relationship with their client. Yet, every therapist went through tough training because they wanted to help others. So laziness or callousness aren't the problem here. It's awareness.

I'm All Set And Ready. Are you?

How Can You Help?

First, people who are searching Google for PTSD and aspergers need to know their is a website dedicated to them. But they won't know unless Google directs them to this website. So, I need your help to let Google know about the website. You can do this by:

  • Visiting The Website: traumatizedaspie.com and stay for 2 minutes
  • Joining The News Letter (I don't spam)
  • Spreading the Word By Asking Friends and Family to Visit traumatizedaspie.com and stay for 2 minutes
  • Leave comments on the traumatizedaspie.com to encourage the readers who are suffering.

Financially, I would very much appreciate any amount of donations. This will help cover the annual operating cost of £988.97+VAT. The break down of annual operating cost is as follows:

  • Web Hosting £237.43
  • Domain Name Registration £49.32
  • Server £521.99
  • Graphics Design £60.24
  • Video Production £119.99

The number of unique individual donors and the total amount raised will be updated on the periodically as a source of encouragement for those struggling. It will be a powerful message that there's someone out there who cares.

Still Not Sure? Read My Letter to Fellow Traumatized Aspies

Dear Fellow Traumatized Aspies,

Please do not be offended by the name of the website. Just like you, I am a fellow Traumatized Aspie seeking treatment, support and information. I have come a long way in my recovery. I have learnt to be proud of my Traumatized Aspie identity, because I have survived!

OK. I did have very rough times when I was not able to function at all. I also resorted to unhelpful coping mechanisms too. BUT, in time, I have learnt to cope in healthier ways, to communicate my struggles clearly without getting triggered, and I’m delighted to write this letter to you.

I just want you to know that there really is a better life ahead, even if you can’t see it right now. It’s like a child going on a car journey and trying to look through a dirty window to see where he his going. We may not be able to see much right now, but the destination is still there, right? We just need to “clean” the window so to speak.

Easier said than done? Most certainly is! That is why I am creating this website: TraumatizedAspie.com. I want to share helpful information and encouragement so that YOU TOO can have hope, and through hope, the perseverance to build the life that you really want.

BE STRONG: Because you are strong. You’re alive, and that’s living proof.
BE PROUD: Take pride in your achievements, it will keep you going.
BE THE BEST: As and when you do these things, it is only a matter of time that you will be the very best.

So, my dear fellow traumatized aspies: It is my sincere hope that by sharing my “lived experience” and research, YOU TOO can enjoy the life that you want.

Your Fellow Traumatized Aspie,
Mandy

New Challenge

Update posted by Mandy Lo at 04:43 pm

I am going to challenge myself to write 30 good articles to answer relevant questions that people are putting on Quora, Reddit and other forums. If they are resorting to those places, there must be many more asking the same questions but couldn't find coherent answers. So 30 well researched
