Hi! I'm Jen. I am here to raise funds for my husband Peter John A. Dela Cruz who was genetically diagnosed with X-LINKED DYSTONIA PARKINSONISM. We need fund for his Implantation of Bilateral Brain Stimulators (Deep Brain Stimulator). "DBS is a surgical treatment in which an implanted device delivers electrical stimulation to the brain in order to alleviate neurologic symptoms. Stimulation is applied through a surgically implanted wire (also called a lead or electrode) that is inserted into the brain. It is most commonly used to treat the symptoms of Parkinson's disease, essential tremor, and dystonia. DBS is most effective for primary dystonia-that is, inherited dystonia like X-linked Dystonia Parkinsonism and dystonia without a known cause. With DBS, primary dystonia symptoms improve 50-60% average, although individuals may benefit substantially more or less than average. These benefits appear to last at least 10 years or more" DBS will help him to prevent continuing disorder that deteriorates his physical condition and ease painful body contortions. He is losing weight already from 85 kgs to 68 kgs in four (4) months’ time due to excessive involuntary movements. X-linked Dystonia Parkinsonism or "XDP" is an adult-onset, genetic movement disorder that almost entirely affects males who descends from the Island of Panay in the Philippines". It is also known as "Lubag", after the local Filipino term to describe abnormal twisting postures that are a significant feature of the early disease. And aside from losing their normal posture, they are in pain.

PJ is 38 years old. He was raised in Calamba City. My husband is a good provider and a good patriarch of our family. We are blessed with two beautiful and loving daughters, 11 and 7 years old respectively. Despite being in this situation, I still feel blessed for I feel the love of the Lord for my family in this trying time. We have relatives and friends who are always there to support us including financially, but the money that we need is way more than what we can raise as a family. We need your help for this medical procedure which will cost roughly 46,000$ or 2.4 million pesos in Asian Hospital and Medical Center one of the only three hospitals that can perform such operation here in the Philippines.
