I am dave tura,33 years old. I have a narrowing on my L4 and L5 discs on my spine that needs surgery and rehabilitation. Currently im out of work because our account was removed since i used to work in a call center before. Lately my wife is supporting me and i do my part as stay at home husband doing all the chores and cooking at home. Just a month ago i suffered hyperacidity attacks and frequent acid reflux due to gallstones. With this pandemic my operation has been delayed to have the gallbladder removed since the protocol is to have my self tested for covid before operation to know i am covid free because doctors won’t do the operation if I’m positive. Since there is no available testing kits i have to wait and it was a week of stay in the hospital suffering from the pain. I had gone through all the tests including mri and later it was identified that i have pancreatitis coz a gallstone fell off blocking some ducts that caused my pancreas to swell. When finally i had my swab test for covid and i was negative ready for operation the surgeon said we have to wait for the pancreas to at least heal up before operation so we waited for days as soon as it was ok to operate after all multiple tests i need to have myself tested again for covid since the validity of the swab test is only a week and mine gone over the timeframe. So another bill for the test. After 3 days i have got the results and negative. I went through a procedure known as ERCP to remove the gallstone in the duct and a day after i had my operation to finally have my gallbladder removed. I thought all the pain struggle is over, but there was a complication since my poo is colored black for days and had to go through a procedure called endoscopy to know if there are any internal bleeding but none was found so a day after another procedure called colonoscopy and some lesions were found so I have to take a lot of medicines and antibiotics for it. My blood count was low and i needed 4 baga of blood. I also had a fever that went up as high as 41 degrees, i had chills and i went through tests again and the doctor said i had pneumonia and since pneumonia is a symptom of covid i was quarantined but luckily it wasnt covid and it was just a hospital acquired pneumonia due to a long stay in the hospital and operation related, i have to take antibiotics again to remove the water in my lungs that lasted for a week. It’s almost 2 months i stayed in the hospital and hospital bills are piling up. I feel bad that I can’t support us especially with my situation and all the bills needs to be paid. I feel guilty that she works hard for us and i cant provide her with anything aside from doing the chores and loving her. She needs a break from paying the hospital bills and needs a vacation. It breaks my heart that I can’t get her anything and she is carrying all the load. May i knock on your kind heart to help us get the money for surgery and if there will be a little amount left i can get my wife a vacation she deserves.
