Campaign Story
Our baby girl, Liané van der Merwe, was born the 18th of February 2018. 2 months premature. At 8 months old she was diagnosed with sagittal craniosynostosis. At 9 months old we went to another neurosurgeon for a 3rd opinion. Then we found out that both the sagittal and metopic sutures are fused prematurely and she needs surgery for both. We were told that she is at risk of losing too much blood and might need a blood transfusion during surgery. The hospital where she'll have surgery is 130km away from where we live and so far her surgery date is 3rd of January 2019.

2nd surgery
Update posted by Charisse Van der Merwe at 09:18 amLiané's surgery went well. Luckily she didn't loose a lot of blood and didn't need a blood transfusion. She will be needing a helmet. And she'll have a 2nd surgery. At her 6 weeks check up we will discuss the 2nd surgery. Thank you for all the prayers and support.
