MID FEBRUARY UPDATE

In late Jan whilst on the way to check out a shooting estate pheasant dump tip off, our car overheated, thankfully there are is no indication that water has made it into the oil so we are ruling out the head gasket.
We have replaced the thermostat, replaced the radiator cap, taken the radiator out and flushed it all of which was fairly easy, we have purchased a new water pump but replacing that is proving to be beyond our mechanical skills.

It may well be that even after replacing the water pump there is still a problem we won't know till it's done.

Today we still have a debt of £700 to pay off as on the purchase of the vehicle, on top of that the years insurance is due on February 17th the cheapest quote after looking at all the comparison sites is £850 and we don't know how much the cost of repairs is going to come too but we assume it will be several hundred.

This leaves us needing around £2,000.

We will be focussing all of our time for the forseeable future on sorting out this serioius financial problem, so if you don't see much from STC in the way of posts or campaigning for the next few months, you know why.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us, it's greatly appreciated.

**UPDATE**
We have purchased our vehicle and have hundreds of pounds left to pay off on our loan, we have increased the overall amount today to cover costs for the pheasant dumping expose we have just published and future exposes. We don't have an office or waged staff so our overheads are very low, fuel costs are high and insurance will be due in a couple of months on our vehicle, we'd also like to buy a number of high ampage batteries for our hidden cameras, some 512gb microSD cards.
We have another expose to work on immediately, but it's hundreds of miles away from us and is going to be costly.

Today's times is not the only press we expect to get on the pheasant dumping, we are working on TV and more national newspapers, we started with the times as we wanted a newspaper that would be taken seriously by the shooting community. Which it has.

Initial fundraiser:
After three badger culls and over 40k miles our trusty Peugot Partner is going to have to be scrapped, it failed it's MOT today on so many points that an estimate for getting through is around £800.

We have thought long and hard with what vehicle to buy as a replacement, whilst we wanted good mpg to keep costs low, we've had serious damage to the air filter of the peugot on two occasions after driving on by ways around pheasant shoots.

We do a lot of work over the winter working on stopping pheasant shooting, so we think it's time to get a vehicle that can handle going off road. In the next month working in collaboration with other groups we will be filming a documentary on pheasant shooting, it's expected to be broadcast by a major media outlet in January of February next year.

You can watch a documentary we filmed a couple of years ago with the BBC featuring our now expired Peugot on this link:

We already have a 4x4 vehicle lined up and can pick it up late next week, it's a few hundred pounds less than the list price due to the seller being someone in the associated saboteur community.

We had to pay extra on our insurance, but that cost is easily covered by our patreon which is set up specifically to cover costs like phone bills, broadband, car insurance, road tax and hopefully eventually fuel as well, you can support us on there for just 75p a month:

vehicle now back on the road, thank you everyone

Update posted by Freeda Brocks at 01:08 am

Our vehicle is now back on the road, it broke down on the way to checking out a tip off about a shooting estate dump.
We tried to fix it ourselves hoping it was part of the cooling system, but nothing we tried stopped it from overheating.
 The garage quickly. . . . .
