Campaign Story
Over the past five years I have been fighting to make art in my country. It has not been an easy task. As you know it is very hard for artists to fund themselves and to become successful without help. I am writing this campaign asking you for your support in order to produce a new series of artworks. My goal, from now to February 2020, is creating 600 works (paintings, drawings, sculptures and woodcuts). I will produce enough works for exhibitions in Chile and overseas towards a solo exhibition.
Among these 600 works of art I am planning to create 100 new oil/acrylic paintings portraying flowers arrangements, 100 abstract structures (check KDASH structures, they are cool!), 200 figurative works (it's all about flesh), 100 expressionist paintings and the rest I would like to leave it for experimental projects.
The project will cost me $6,000. With this sum I will cover all costs associated with the preparation of the new workspace, art supplies and advertising.
If you want to know how and why this campaign was made I recommend you to watch Amanda Palmer TED talk. I share Amanda’s initial feelings about thinking that asking for money is something un-joblike, unfair and shameful. But Palmer underlines the idea that an artist always must give something to the audience in exchange: a flower, attention, a song, love. In my case, I would like to give you one of my works for free. Please check the rewards options if you would like to receive one of my creations.
Your donation will have a tremendous impact on the creation of these works of art. If you require any further information, feel free to contact me.
Thank you very much in advanced!
