Help Me Save My Home and Healing Space

My name is Lindy (Lindi) Dlamini (Ancestral name - Gogo Masechaba ) a Sangoma ( African Shaman)and integrative healer in Cape Town.

I am raising funds to save my Home

🏠Property 118 is a 4-bedroomed house in Cape Town (SA) that was bought by my late father Chris Dlamini in 1994 .

My ex-husband and I have lived in thithis home for about 13 years

My father passed on in 2009, and we started a process of buying the house from his Late Estate in 2014

Due long legal processes, with late estates, it was transferred into both our names in 2017, by which time we were in the process of divorcing.

My ex-husband has a fulltime employment and was the main breadwinner , which helped us qualify for 85% Bond (mortgage)

We were married in community of property which gives us each 50% ownership to the house. Unless I can buy his 50% share, the house will be sold in August 2019 and me my daughters and I will be without a home.

I work as a traditional healer (Sangoma / African shaman) & freelance facilitator and make about $4000 annually (R60 000). I also do not qualify for any bank financing because of my non-permanent employment status. .

At the rate of hiking property process in Cape Town, I would not afford a similar house and renting is even more expensive.

 I need to raise -+ R500k to be able to buy ex-husband’s share out

 Total value of the house, R510k bond settlement with Home loans

 Transfer of ownership costs

 Other conveyancing costs

 Rates & levies

Why I want to save this home?

There is the sentimental value, for this has been a family home for over 25 years,

I currently live with my two daughters, one of them starting tertiary education in 2019

It has also been a home and safe house to the children who I have fostered , adopted over the years and many others who sought short or long term refuge at various times .

It is also an Indumba (a traditional name for our healing room) where I consult with clients for readings and do all my healing work. . We have hosted guests from different countries, held healing circles, facilitated workshops, and coaching sessions too. In this home I’ve dedicated my life to bringing the healing and wisdom of my ancestors to South Africans of all creeds and races, and to people of all nationalities.

My efforts - I have about $6700 (R100 000) received as my 50% share of ex-husband’s pension that is saved. I also continue to work as traditional healer and freelance facilitator to save money towards this goal

They say that the ancestors work in mysterious and powerful ways. For a traditional healer to aim to save her ancestral inheritance and healing space over social media would have been unthinkable a generation back. But I have learned that we must work with the times, and tell our stories in ways that are accessible to people everywhere. I’ve recently been travelling to bring healing and the wisdom of my ancestors to people from all over the world. People I’ve worked with overseas have also encouraged me to start this campaign as a way to make donations. Please consider helping me to continue to be the guardian of this healing space by making a contribution.

As a healer/facilitator I offer the following and would be happy to gift any of these as a token of my gratitude for donations of R500 or more ($150)

 Readings - Bone throwing & Tarot Cards (Face to face & Distant)

 Aura & space clearing & cleansing (within proximity)

 Talk therapy & Coaching

 Life Alignment Balance ( Face to face & Distant )
