Lojong Meditation

Help us bring Buddha Shakyamuni to our Temple.

*****IMPORTANT UPDATE FROM CO-FOUNDER CLAIRE FROM LOJONG MEDITATION******

Hello lovely Sangha! As you may know we've moved to the new space, what you may not know is that I have been battling poor health and was recently diagnosed with cervical cancer. Karma is a great teacher, I'm blessed that the cancer was found and my prognosis is good, but the illness has meant that everything we had planned for Lojong was put on hold for a while.

I'm now writing to let you know our plans. Trying to raise $4000 to have a golden Buddha Shakyamuni statue delivered from Nepal was always going to be a little ambitious. We've decided that rather than wait to raise such a large amount, we're going to redirect funds already raised to complete the temple as soon as possible. To do this, we've commissioned an extra large, mural sized Thangka (Tibetan wall hanging) of Buddha Shakyamuni for the head of the Temple. This is currently in progress with a dear friend Nyishi Tenzin from Drepung Gomang Monastery in South India. While the medium has changed, the message and intent hasn't. We are committed to opening our doors and sharing this space with the community as soon as possible. We will have the new Thangka installed for our relaunch early 2020. We'd love for you to be involved, please read on for more details.

Over the last 18 months we've been building a special space in the Central Victorian Highlands to house our new home and Temple. The views, energy and surrounds are spectacular.

We want the space to be enveloped by its community, brought to life by the love, compassion and the generosity of our sangha..... that's where YOU come in.

The temple will be filled with precious artifacts to imbue the space with great energy. Co-Founders Tamkey and Claire have recently commissioned mural sized Buddha Shakyamuni Thangka from South India to adorn the temple and altar area. The Thangka will be blessed by monks from the Drepung Gomey and Kirti monastery.

We're incredibly blessed to have had this 4x3m high wall hanging hand-selected by our dear friend and monk Nyishi, who is living in South India. He's been overseeing the crafting and creation of this beautiful piece and its safe delivery to Australia.

These images bring great benefit to the community in which they reside, and whenever an opportunity arises to become part of the creation of such a piece, its bound by great merit and strengthens the space with an intention of love.

We want to share the opportunity to bring this precious Thangka to be with our sangha.

Claire and Tamkey (Co-Founders of Lojong Meditation) have started off by donating the initial deposit for the thangka to reside in this sacred temple space, and are now looking to raise $2500 for the remaining commission completion and transportation costs.

Should you be inspired, your donation will be recorded and displayed on a nameplate within the Lojong Meditation Temple, unless you want to donate anonymously.

Once it's delivered there’ll be a celebration to welcome our Sangha and this beautiful blessing into the Temple - join us in the space. We can’t wait for you to visit.

Claire and Tamkey, Co-Founders, Lojong Meditation

With open hearts and hands, we thank you for your generosity.

Much love, Claire and Tamkey, The Lojong Meditation Team.
