My family's home and business in Cainta Rizal, Manila, Philippines burned down on August 15, 2018 due to a live wire that fell on top of their roof causing a spark and initiating the fire to start. This was in the Valley Golf area. Thankfully none of my relatives, my cousins, their spouses or their children were hurt or caught in the middle of the fire. However, they lost everything they owned. My Uncle, who has since passed away, built this home for them as the family grew. My Aunt also ran a store, this was their livelihood. I am truly heartbroken for their loss and very angry with Meralco.

I am asking for help on their behalf since they have absolutely nothing and are now homeless. All their belongings are gone and all they had were the clothes on their backs. I would greatly appreciate any monetary donations you can provide to help them rebuild. This is a very sad and unfortunate situation they're all going through right now.

I currently live in Canada and I am feeling completely helpless as I cannot assist them from my end. These donations will go directly to my Aunt and her family. Feel free to contact them directly should you wish to donate through them. This page was created to help spread the word.

Thank you in advance!

Sincerely,

Joan M.

(the family's niece/cousin/second cousin/cousin-in-law)

Goal

Update posted by Joan McKinley at 01:08 pm

In case you're wondering what the set goal is for the amount to be raised, we have not figured that out yet. All we know is that a new home needs to be rebuilt and new appliances are needed which is probably going to cost thousands upon thousands of Pesos.

Quick update.

Update posted by Joan McKinley at 01:15 pm

Report your complaints to Meralco especially if you or your loved ones were affected by this unfortunate fire. If you have clothes you can donate that would be greatly appreciated. My relatives only had the clothes on their backs when this fire started. Thanks again for supporting my relatives and
