Nepal Helambu education project for kids

Helambu is a region situated 5 hours from Katmandhu with an additional 3 hours hike uphill.It is slowly recovering from the devastating effect of the 2015 earthquake and 3 years after much remains to be done in the districts of Sindhupalchok and Baruwa, where the Helambu Valley and the Langtang National Park are located.

The children of Helambu are still struggling with lack of accommodation and many of its young students have had to quit school due to destruction to the school and have moved to other countries to seek cheap labor jobs.The school structures have been rebuilt recently and the internet connection has been established but is still unusable because the necessary equipment is missing, this include servers, computers, network devices, monitors and keyboards.

Our mission is to help such students and school.

How we will help

In October we plan to set a digital education platform in three recently rebuilt schools in the Helambu community that will create 34 available stations to students.

During installation works, we will coordinate with a local non-profit association, Criticaledu (www.criticaledu.org), that will help us with community liaison and social mobilization including help with the handover of the donated equipment once they have been installed.

What we need and costs

As the travelling costs (flights included) and accommodations are sponsored by our company, Avaloq (www.avaloq.com), what we require is the costs for the equipment. All the related activities such as procurement and transportation of equipment and installation will be done by us.

Below is the list of the equipment that we will buy directly in Kathmandu with the breakdown of the costs.

Our aim is to build 34 stations for three school in the community however in case we will not reach the full amount we will set up as many stations as we can with the donations received.

All your donations will be fully utilized to cover exclusively these costs and will benefit directly the Helambu schools, students and community. Any excess received will be used to provide stationaries (and any other needs) to the students and school.
