Help Baby Gator!

Gator walked in from outside and started playing with the other dogs, and about a minute later, he was on the ground with a hip that wasn't where it should have been. At first, we thought it was dislocated, but we later found out that that was not the case. Gator's hip bone was broken at the growth plate where the ball of the hip joint and the leg bone connect.

We were told by the vet that the surgery needed to fix his leg was way out of our reach. We were also told that we could take him home and let his leg heal, but knowing that his leg would not work correctly after this broke our hearts. We have attempted to contact rescues to see if we could find anyone willing to re-home and help Gator, however, we've had no luck.

The funds will be used for Gator's surgery and visits to the vet post-surgery.

We would appreciate the funds as soon as possible, because it means we can afford his operation before his hip starts to heal and connect with the wrong place, resulting in permanent leg damage and a high risk of arthritis. We will update with pictures and details of Gator's progress if we are able to go forward with the operation.

Everyone who has a pet knows that they are not just a pet; they are family. Gator is young and has been a part of our dysfunctional family for about two months now, and we love him greatly. It would mean so much to us (including Gator) if we got to reach our goal. Gator is only six months old and we do not want him to have to live the rest of his life in pain.
