Fix Muymoy’s Heart

Muymoy weighs 2 pounds/1kilo at birth with a congenital heart disease called Atrial Septal Defect, a hole in his heart. The size of the hole is bigger than those that heal spontaneously so he was grayish when he was a baby due to lack of oxygen to his body. He cried a lot due to discomfort and difficulty breathing.

He goes to his pediatric cardiologist regularly and takes maintenance medications like diuretic, pills that makes him pee a lot to prevent water collecting in his heart and lungs and a toxic heart medication digoxin, that will help regulate his heart beat.

The right side of his heart has developed larger than the left as it is the side working hard to compensate for the difficulty of pumping the blood to the right direction. His heartbeat is too fast and pumps hard on his chest but Muymoy hardly complains.

As we hoped for the hole to close spontaneously as the last 2 years his 2d echo results have been positive, this year, 2018, his condition has turned negative, something we do not expect. His pedia cardio suggested the moment he put the ultrasound head on Muymoy’s chest for surgery as the size of the hole is bigger than expected.He will need the hole close to prevent more complications to arise as to what he has already right now.

The surgeon will determine the type of procedure or surgery he has to go through but he will need close to approximately 500K pesos, for the repair of his heart, which will be done at the Philippine Heart Center, in Manila. This will include his surgery, doctors professional fees, hospital stay, medication and care during his hospitalization. Not included are the result of complications and the pre and post operative check ups, which can cost more than 5K per visit as 2d echos are expected to be done to monitor his progress.

We are asking for a lot of prayers and financial help as his single mom herself who suffers from type1 diabetes with multiple complications is now unable to work because of the need to take care of the precious, sweet little boy. We are hoping that with your financial assistance, Muymoy’s heart will be repaired and give him a chance to be able to do activities that a normal child can do.

Physically, he looks well as he is too big for his age, but he mostly drink milk due to having all his 17 teeth surgically removed due to infection that might spread to his heart, in late 2016. He is a well behave boy, sweet and loving. Though his speech is delayed and receiving therapy, he is able to communicate in his own way.

We are pleading for your help, let us have Muymoy’s heart fixed. Please give him the chance to experience the best quality of life that is elusive to him right now. Your donations will surely get this boy his well needed surgery and treatment and give him a normal childhood that every child deserve. UPDATE: June 17,2018

Appointment with cardio was made for wednesday, June 20,2018 at Philippine Heart Center... And currently sick with cough and cold with eyes in pain and headache. He is hardly eating nor drinking his favorite milk, though he is on a diet but not this way of loosing weight. Will try giving him probiotic and some hydration medicine and will see a specialist first thing tomorrow morning..

At 11:30 pm he got fever.. Please continue including Muymoy in your prayers..
