We have a message from Oona Chaplin the executive producer of our film, and Ninawa Pai da Mata the spiritual leader and chief from the Novo Futuro village.
We are still gathering funds for the Eskawatã Kayawai film project and the side projects that raised from the last 3 years working among the Huni Kuin from the Humaitá river. This is the last call, contribute if you can, spread the word.
tradição no rio Humaitá.
During the 3 years of living with the Huni Kuin people, the
documentary was born in the village Novo Futuro, during the III meeting
of the Eskawata Kayawai Festival, aiming to be a tool of the people for
the world, carrying its message forward. In coordination with the
leaders of the Novo Futuro village, Ninawa Pai da Mata and the producer
of the festival Vinicius Romão, from the opportunity to include more
villages in the film, the project grows and with the premise of telling
the story of the return to tradition in the Humaitá river.
On our last trip for the month of May 2019 on the Humaitá River, our team also visited the villages of Dua Kaya, Boa Vista, Boa Sorte, São José and Vigilante, who agreed to participate in the film, recording their village and their part of the history of the people who live in the river. Mounting a narrative line of spirituality, culture and resistance in this area, while opening space for all communities to participate in this reconstruction and expansion of the history of this region
The project will then take the form of a 60-minute documentary film, bringing interviews with different leaderships, pajeres, txanas, artisans and artisans and villagers in the Humaitá River, talking about the resumption of ancestral culture in the region. Thus registering a clipping about the true people, their culture, customs, history and spirituality, embracing recognition internally in Huni Kuin indigenous lands, national and international, on the culture of its people and the importance of the indigenous in Brazil as a whole, with a focus on the resumption of their culture and lands, inspiring other ethnic and non-indigenous peoples to seek their roots and ancestry, reconnecting with Mother Earth, reminiscing the balance of harmony and union with the great spirit and nature.
Since April 2nd we have been in the Amazon giving our support to the Festival Encontro de Cultura Huni Kuin (Huni Kuin Gathering) in Jordão Rifver, Boa Vista village. It was an extraordinary month being able to meet the villages of Jordão river that are closer to their ancestral traditional culture. We have started some projects that will be happening later on this year in Jordão.
Last journey to the Amazon
For now, we are in Tarauacá city, in Acre, where we will depart on the 2nd May to the Humaitá river, visiting several villages in order to complete the production of our film Eskawata Kayawai. In this trip we will research in all Humaitá villages about the subject we are focusing in the film, what is the story in the Humaitá river of white people taking over, and when and how the culture raised again. We are very happy with the possibility and invitation of the leaders of each village, to get to know other villages and have their story shared to bring a wider point of view, and to represent a region that are changing their story as a whole.
FEPHAC Gathering in May
We will be traveling up to 19th May, when we will be coming back and going straight to Rio Branco, to participate the FEPHAC Annual Huni Kuin gathering, which will bring 350 leaders from all regions to discuss several points for their security, sustainability, production and future. We will be producing content of photo, video and text, in case you might know any media or journalist that would be happy to share this content, write us, we would be very happy to share the resume of this meeting with the world, showing that the indigenous lives matter, that they are getting organised and that we can help them in many ways.

AMAZON FELLOWHIP, be a partner!
Another news we would like to share, after our first trip to the Amazon, we met amazing projects, villages and people needing help, as since the new president took over, they are in a very dangerous situation and have zero resources coming to them. So we funded the Amazon Fellowship, an umbrella of projects happening in the Amazon that need help, grants, communication, education, construction and so on. We are just beginning but we are happy we already raised 20k to this event of FEPHAC (and we continue to raise funds, check here), and we are raising for more causes. To follow projects that need help, please follow our instagram and get involved here.
Eskawata Kayawai film goes to the US in June/July/August
We are excited to confirm our presence at the Aniwa Gathering in New York, a gathering that brings together 40 respected indigenous leaders from cultures around the world, we will be filming the event, as well presenting Eskawata Kayawai film projefct and other Amazon Fellowship projects. Also we are enjoying this possibility to make events regarding the film, the first event will happen 18th July in California, supported by Chacruna and The Psychedelic Society of San Francisco.
If you know anyone or a space in the US (or Mexico, our next stop!) that would like to hold an event about the film, talk to us! We offer to show some selected parts of the film, make a Q&A about the directors experience on the making of the film and getting to know the culture, play some Huni Kuin songs, exhibit some photographs, have a Huni Kuin shop for selling articrafts and also run a public sale for special items. Get in touch [email protected]
We had the possibility of extending our crowdfudning campain which remains open till the end of August for eventual donations.
That's it for now, do send us your prayers during this journey and we will be sending our prayers to everyone, spreading this peace and love of Mother Nature. Keep track of our journeys following our Facebook and Instagram page.
Thanks again for your support, many blessings to you all.

We are very grateful for your support to help the production of the crowdfunding on he making of Eskawata Kayawai, documenting Huni Kuin culture and share about their existence worldwide, which is one of the few actions we can make for them and them for themselves, besides praying at this difficult moment.
A film is a way to share to the world that they exist and they matter, besides is a way to keep their wisdom for the next generations. As some of you know, the Huni Kuin live a hard time where they don't have many elders keepers of their knowledge as many were killed trying to defend their culture in a time not very far away (20 to 50 years), they were forbidden to practice their culture as to speak their language and perform their rituals. So this film is a necessity for the Huni Kuin people, to share they are alive, they matter, they have a beautiful culture, and to keep this recording to the next generations as they are afraid about their situation now in Brazil.
We are asking for your help to keep sharing our project so we can get more donations and be able to run this project and share their message worldwide.
As you might know, the indigenous situation was never easy but we were expecting to get that worse in one month of our new president. There are 305 indigenous tribes with their 274 native languages threatened right now in Brazil with what have been happening. The first measures of the new president was to finish with the environment and indigenous sector in the government, plus to give FUNAI, the indigenous foundation, in the hands of the ruralists, representing those who have always killed and expelled the indigenous from their homes (plus now the president approved the gun right). In one month we had 10 indigenous villages being invaded, shot and devastated, plus we had an immense catastrophe in Brumadinho with a dam collapse a mine (same situation, same company than the catastrophe Mariana in 2015, but catastrophe that people saw it happening before and tried to stop with no success) ruining more rivers and indigenous places, killing people which are still not found.
As you can see the situation for our nature and indigenous doesn't look good at all, it's very important to be registering all indigenous people as we are not sure about their future, and that was the call we had. As a production company we have a plan to keep developing new projects where we can film different tribes and develop projects where they need the most, we are supporting other indigenous events that need funds (have a look here), plus we are planning new projects on education, culture, development, to build water wells (as many of the villages are still collecting river water for all their activities) and so on, we are even creating an organization (on Instagram, @helptheamazon) to track indigenous projects needing for help and people/companies who are willing to help in anyway they can. If you feel you can be involved in any of these projects and help more, please do get in touch, we need your help.
All the best and sending many blessing to all of you and all indigenous and minorities who faces a hard time in planet Earth.

We came back from Acre very much inspired, living and experiencing with the Huni Kuin making our feature film, we are now entering a new phase of our project where we need expansion and new partnerships for our collaborative feature film Eskawata Kayawai. We just launched a new crowdfunding for the demands of the project, access here, check our project and possible rewards and please support our crew and the Huni Kuin, so we can spread their message of love, healing and happiness. Haux haux!
Haux haux

Here we are again with our updates! Wow, it has been so intense since we started editing this project at the same time that the campaign is running. So as most of you already know, the project was meant to be a short film, then we thought that it would become an 40 minutes film and this week we realized it is a feature film of probably 100 minutes, so much more than expected. When we went to Acre, we opened the doors to the shamans so they could share whatever they felt, without a previous script, they could share what they needed to share, so we could back with a very rich and extensive content, that with joy it will become a feature film. So we had to increase our goal from $7,500 to $12,520 which includes the bellow, you can check the full budget at the main page.
- Maior orçameto para a edição e assistente de edição / A higher fee for the editing and his assistant
- Maior orçameto para a tradução / A higher fee for the translation
- Contratação de consultor para o filme / Hiring a consultant for the film
- Contratação de tratamento de cor / Hiring a color correction
- Contratação de animador para uma cena específica / Hiring an animator for a specific scene needed
- Passagem para o Acre para a exibição do filme e gravação do evento / Plain ticket to go to Acre and film the gathering and exhibition
- Aumento das taxas da paltaforma e banco / Higher fees of the Brazilian government and the plataform
Also another (great) news, is that we received a donation of a triptych artwork from Janete Anderman a visual artist, working also with healing arts, living and working in Curitiba, Brazil, represented by the gallery Boiler Galeria.
Below her words about the work of art and a brief description of the work of the artist.
This triptych is imaginary landscapes of a place, the acre amazon, which the artist dreams of sharpness. The dialog of temporality and territoriality are abstracted in rhizomatic forms and colors of a forest with many layers yet to be revealed from a relation of proximity with the planetary beings that inhabit there.
Her current research is about establishing a system, which seeks the apprehension of the movement arising from the fruitful tension between fluxes/forces, between the cosmic time and the finite human time. It values the anthropological expression and environmental and territorial questions.Working with various media, such as painting, installation, photography and video, Janete seeks to build access routes to get involved with other possibilities of relations between man and his primordial environments. The succession of events, the different times between human creation and natural flow are sources of research, and by placing these times in coexistence it causes a mutation of sensitivity.
Keep supporting us, please do share our campaign with other people to raise awareness of the Huni Kui cause and this project which can hep to spread their ideas, ways of living and healing the world.

First of all, we are very grateful for the dissemination of this project and all the support we are receiving through the platform and in person. Very much appreciated! Also we are very happy to receive support from more of the beautiful photos of Guto de Lima with his project "Eus e os Nós" to collaborate in this campaign. Below is an excerpt from the author's text about his project.
De onde viriam as principais lições? Das pessoas? Da floresta? Do silêncio? Do ócio?
Viajar. Balançar na rede e exercitar a paciência. Falar comigo.
Where the main lessons would come from? Of people? Of the forest? Of silence? Of leisure? What would be interesting to concentrate on? On the contrary, I simply decided to live quietly, with a low expectation and the lantern turned off. To feel the forest trail at night, exercising new possibilities and new spaces.
Excuse me. Helping to create your memory of the Huni Kuin is a great responsibility which I dare to try only through pictures, not words. Or maybe, two words: real people.
To wake up with the day rising and sleeping with the night falling. To be fed with pure food, planted and gathered with the sweat of those who served me, and to prose for hours in Hantxa Kuin language without understanding a word, deciphering the look, the atmosphere, the unspeakable. Dive naked in the stream and hear my heart pounding. Give lots of laughter with children. Solar and star beings. Perceive the sun in everything and travel in the sky of infinite constellations. Travel. Swing in the hammock and exercise patience. Talk to me.
