Funding

Literature Επίνεον. Contact with the literature with no borders and the place of birth of the first Museum of Greek Literature. Place of residency and creation for authors and amateur writers from all over the world, in the heart of Greece. A place of gathering from every place of Greece and from all over the world, either through physical presence or through videoconference (skype).

Overview

Our purpose is to create guest rooms, with ultimate aim the process of writing by authors and amateur writers from all over the world, at a building with a mountain and sea view at a beautiful small town, in the heart of Greece. Interaction with the audience, in an environment of culture, with a lecture room and the creation of a literature museum. A place sufficient and suitable for the exchange of ideas and the book presentations, at the ground floor of the building and at the garden with a terrace exposed at the sunlight. All this covers a total surface of 600m2, at a two floor building of our own ownership, with ground floor and a building with a terrace exposed at the sunlight, where will be built an environmentally friendly installation of green energy. And all this, only at a distance of half an hour from the railroad station of Lianokladi and the International Airport of Nea Anchialos.

As a child, I remember myself writing stories. Then, the hidden pages came to light, and my texts were read at literature gatherings and writing competitions. At the upcoming years, I was squeezing books and clothes in a suitcase and with my laptop I was escaping at my mother’s, Aggeliki, village, Stylida, for short vacations. Looking out of the balcony the sea and the mountain, with sun and clouds, I was reading and I was writing. So, apart from ink, my pages were filled with the mountain soil, the pine-tree smell and the sea bream.

Niki, I have a plan ... I heard the voice of my brother, Stelios. There is a house in a wonderful place that swings between the mountain and the sea. The very first though born the others. We envisioned a place where people from Greece and abroad, with different cultures and experiences and with the need to feel the happiness and redemption of writing, will be hosted and each will make their own start in their own way.

THE IDEA

Modern hostels that will welcome those who love literature and writing. From the ground floor up to the bright terrace of the garden, a space of culture and meetings and a museum dedicated to the writers of the area will be created.
Creative writing seminars, book presentations, nights dedicated to literature and lectures in a centre of culture devoted to creative thinking and writing. And on the way back, everyone will carry what cannot that does not fit in suitcases, great moments, new friendships, maybe the beginning of the next book!

THE PURPOSE

The creation of a two-floor building with ample space at the ground floor for writers’, amateur writers’ and readers’ meetings from every region and the establishment of the the First Museum of Greek Literature. All this in the heart of Greece with easy access by car, by train, and by airplane.
Your own contribution and immediacy to the realization of the project, whether you are dealing with literature or not, will give the dimension we are all looking for a space of thought, writing and culture. This way every writer and amateur of writing will create in an intimate and hospitable place away from everyday life that distracts them from the peacefulness of creation.
This project needs your own contribution and support, either you are a writer or audience or reader. You can be present both in the beginning and in the course of the project at all the activities- creative writing seminars, events and book presentations - that will be planned for the literature and for the development of the museum. Email communication and videoconference provide an opportunity for everyone to participate actively. We are all part of a cultural environment and our financial contribution aims at the development of our thought.

WHAT WE NEED - WHAT WE OFFER

The development of the project aims at the culture and the contact of the writers and the amateur writers with the public, no matter the field we belong. In our building, in a space that will be built from the beginning and will have been completed in six months, you will be able to come whenever you wish as well as at the scheduled meetings. The reconstruction needs of the building are estimated up to 200,000 Euros. More specifically, it is needed:

1. 40.000 Euros for the ground floor setup, 180 m2 and 4.5 meters of heigh, as a meeting room and museum (bathrooms, small refreshment, tiles, painting, chairs, tables, audio and video systems for the presentations)
2. 10,000 Euros for the design of a glass patio and the formation of a 100 m2 garden, which will be connected to the ground floor room
3. 80.000 Euros for the construction of four guesthouses, 80 m2 (bathrooms, kitchens, tiles, painting, purchase of household equipment and heating)
4. 10,000 Euros for the elevator
5. 20,000 Euros for the painting of the exterior painting, outdoor setup and railings
6. 20.000 Euros for the installation of solar panels and electricity supply, heating and air-condition
7. 10,000 Euros for the installation of central Internet, computers and monitors
8. 10,000 Euros for employee insurance cover

During the realisation of the project you will have:

• Briefing on the activities and meetings of the writers
• Attendance at the meetings
• Skype connection at every meeting
• Airport and train transfer (half-hour distance)
• Discount and priority of stay at the guestrooms
• Discount for tours to other museums and cultural sites of the area
• Βriefing about the development of the museum and its activities

DYNAMIC AND PERFORMANCE

The success of this project will

• Give birth to the need for writing and art of the writers and amateur writers
• Bring in touch writers with amateur writers and audiences from all Greece and the world in the big room of the building
• Connect with skype writers from different countries during the meetings
• Link the history of local literature with nowadays
• Connect the writers' imaginative thinking with the Internet and global participation, through the participation in an audience that will not bind the boundaries. (The audience that we seek knows no boundaries.)
• Be a meeting point for Greek writers and I wish the whole world
• Become a center for the briefing of the writers and the promotion of new books
• And will be funded the first Greek Literature Museum

DONATIONS

1. With 10 Euros your name will be mentioned at the site's donations chart, your photo – if you wish so - will be placed at the chart of donators at the entrance of the museum and an electronic thank-you card will be sent
2. With 40 euros you will attend the first meeting and you will be sent the Λογοτεχνίας Επίνεον Calendar for the whole year with the Greek Literature Museum activities and you will ensure your skype connection at every meeting for one year
3. With 80 Euros you will ensure all the above and also
   • 15% discount on the overnight stay for one year
   • The priority of attendance at every meeting during this period
   • 10% discount on all cultural sites (museums, galleries, etc.) of Lamia for this period
   • 10% discount on specific businesses (restaurants, wineries, art spaces)
   • for the accommodation will be followed a priority order and in case of no availability will be given room in a nearby hotel as well as transportation to the hotel (The year starts on the 1st September)
4. With 150 Euros you will ensure the accommodation for one night in hostels with breakfast for the first meeting (priority will be followed and in case of no availability will be given room in a hotel in Lamia as well as transportation) and transfer to and from the airport and the train station.
5. With 300 euro you will have a return airplane or train ticket - first class (domestic routes and only in case of availability) and one night stay in hostels with breakfast.
6. For the residents of Europe with 1.000 Euros and for the residents of America with 2.000 Euros, you will ensure the air-ticket and the train ticket - first place from Athens and Thessaloniki (domestic routes and only in case of availability) (Lianokladi Station) and two nights in hostels, with breakfast.

CONCLUSION
