Avery Ysabelle Andaya Monsales was born last August 12, 2017 at 35-36 weeks. She has complications upon birth, low birth weight (1.6kg), congenital anomaly, pneumonia, congenital heart disease - patent ductus arteriosus, pulmonary arterial hypertension. She stayed in NICU for 68 days, and during her confinement, she had Sepsis and been critical twice. We’d been able to bring her home last October 18, 2017 thanks to our family, relatives and strangers who helped us in any way they can.
We continued her out patient treatment and was initially diagnosed with developmental delay and needs to be checked by a pedia-neurologist. She’s nearly 8 months old and weighs 3.7kg which is a normal weight of a newborn baby. Her eyes also needs to be checked since she also has difficulty to focus her eyes. We also brought her to Philippine Heart Center to schedule her surgery for PDA closure but her 2D Echo result showed that her PDA was already closed, so no surgery is needed. Thank God.
She was doing very well until she got cough and colds last March 3, 2018. At March 5, we rushed her to CP Reyes Hospital (Tanauan City, Batangas) ER since we noticed that she’s breathing heavily and her toenails started to darken. It turned out that her body’s oxygen level is very low which may damage her brain if we weren’t able to bring her immediately to the hospital. Right there and then, she was intubated and admitted in hospital ICU. Doctor’s diagnosis is congenital heart failure, pulmonary hypertension and severe pneumonia. She’s still at the hospital ICU as of this moment and the cost of treatment in ICU, the laboratory tests, hospital bills as well as the medicines are expensive. As of today, our current bill is almost PHP900,000, professional fees of her 3 doctors are not yet included.
All our savings and loans were already used for our baby’s treatment and medications. We’ve set up this fund, to help reduce the hospital costs and her continuous medications.
We sincerely thank you for every amount you are able to give. And please include our Baby Avery in your prayers as well.
