I have a friend who has gone through some horrendous days this last year. She had cancer and was to be scheduled for an operation in France. It turned out that the Doctor had been stealing from many patients on bogus operation claims. She arrived in France, and he was nowhere to be found. He has since passed away with apparently no assets in his estate. ( loss of 10,000 euros ). She did eventually get her operation in Germany with some State assistance. However, she has a disability status now which means limited work.

She was going to buy a home thru the Italian government system which allows the poor to buy a home with food assistance for around 10 years. However, that money (10,000 euros) was stolen by a unbelievably crazy and cruel relative who beat her before stealing her funds.

She has tried to survive on the streets but is very difficult due to no money now and dangerous individuals on the streets for any person especially for a woman. Yes, she has been violated this past year...twice. The unemployment and homeless in Europe is high especially in Italy. There is a new program where she can get a home with food for a lower rate ( 7000 euros. ) She does want to work with the limited amount that she is allowed but will need some training to do so. ( 3300 euros for training over 1 year.) There is no disability moneys in her area of Europe

My GOAL is to raise the moneys needed and to pay back all donors at some point in this year when I know I will have the funds to be able to give back to all donors. However, her need is now and not in the future.

She is trying to live on the street now and may have days before she is seriously hurt or starve. Resources for the poor are strained and limited. She is not a refugee but just someone seeking to survive in these hard days for her.
