Hi everyone!

I am Baby Marquis "MARQI" Sabelle born on March 6, 2018 at 27 weeks and 5 days (less than 7 months) weighing 695 grams, standing 27.5 cm long.

My mommy had severe pre-eclampsia causing serious high blood pressure as high as 194/125 at 20 weeks which was very dangerous for me and her health. She was in and and out of the ICU since then .

My mommy's team of doctors told her to keep me inside her tummy for as long as possible since I was still very small. I was expected to be a Gemini to be born on May 31, 2018 but I ended up as a Pisces, not too bad.

I was so distressed at 27 weeks because I was not getting any nutrition anymore from my mommy. My mommy tried to buy more time, and keep me inside her tummy so that my lungs can fully develop. However, on the 27.5th week my mommy had to undergo an emergency C-section to save my life when I was already in distress.

After her crucial delivery, I was immediately transferred to the Neonatal ICU (NICU) of the St. Lukes Medical Center for Intensive care under ventilators and incubation to help my underdeveloped lungs and weak body.

On my second day in this world, the doctors in NICU had to complete a procedure to help my left lung breathe air since my organs were still underdeveloped. (Special shout out to the bestest OB in the world, Doc Chua, for taking good care of me)

But being a micro premature (premie) rockstar, I am still strong enough to complain and and pull the wires connected to my body.

As of now, I still need more funds to stay in the NICU. Although my family is trying their best to cover my expenses, there are still more to come. My everyday medical bills, so far, in the NICU costs around $500 a day on good days. I may stay a little longer here than most of my batchmates in the NICU because of my size (I'm just as big as a coke litro) and weight.

But I am a fighter and a real "premie" rockstar. I promise that I will try to get bigger and healthier soon.

Thank you to everyone who visited my page. Any amount will help me at this stage and all donations will be placed solely for my NICU fund.

Please also pray for me.

Will update you soon!!

-Baby Girl Marquis

No more tube for Marqi so its time for some Kangaroo Care :)

Update posted by Sai Hassani at 06:18 pm

Marqi was off the ET tube today (07 April 2018)!!!! 1.Mommy and Marqi, for the first time, share a hug and hear each other's heartbeat and feel each other's warmth. Research shows that Kangaroo care is meant to help the growth of premie babies as the exchange of heat helps. . . . .
