Eli’s road to babyhood

On Feb. 22, 2018, just a few days ago, the darling of our lives was born. The first child of our marriage, our first daughter, came into this world. Her name is Eliana Lorrine Dorado Espiritu. Unfortunately, she was born prematurely at 32 weeks of age. She is now fighting for her life, and her family is fighting alongside her.

She is currently in an incubator, with a feeding tube connected to her because she is unable to suckle and a ventilator that helps her breathe because she sometimes forgets how to. She has contracted an infection and is currently undergoing blood infection treatment.

Nothing breaks a parent’s heart more than seeing their children suffer. But Eliana’s willingness to fight and her struggle to live has given us hope and we have decided that we will be fighting this along with her.

While I was looking for ways to help my baby, I found gogetfunding.com and read about how this site has helped other families just like ours in their time of need. We decided to set up a gogetfunding.com page to ask for help in funding the money that we need for Eliana’s mounting hospital bills which are expected to go upwards to 800,000.00 PhP. I normally will not ask anyone for money, but we are an average couple with average means. The reality is that it will be extremely difficult to pay for our daughter’s welfare without asking for help.
