With the world population booming to 9 billion shortly, there is a huge gap in production and consumption of food.

This is howFAO has already forewarned us of shrinking food production base and recommends for alternative sources of proteins for human and cattle future needs.Insects are one among the few promising alternatives now considered for promotion. With very high energy conversion rate and nil impact on ecosystem imbalance, Insects promise a great future.The first conference promoted by FAO held in Ede, The Netherlands during 2014 was a huge success it’s over 350 participants across the world, where I too participated and presented a paper on prospectives of silk producing insects as food and feed.

I am a sericulture scientist served for over 38 years in research, planning, production and promotion of silk. Now as an independent consultant and volunteer for needy, my intrest focusing on effective utility of leftover silkworms (which go as byproduct) to the betterment of human health.In this regard, I have findings of a detailed survey done along with few co workers in silkworm eating habits and analysed its impact on health.Now is an opportunity for me to share the results and suggest to the world for more effective usage.The second conference on “Insect to Feed the World” will be held in Wuhan ,China during 15-18 May 2018.As a retired person from active government service, my resources are limited to my pension which will be insufficient to participate and to meet the registration, travel, food and stay costs. My appeal is to those who wants to see their fund put to an effective use for betterment of world
