This fundraiser is to help cover the cost of custom shoes, braces, and other (as yet undetermined) items to help me to walk without so much pain.

I'm Heather, and I need help to buy corrective shoes. One of my legs is shorter than the other by 2 1/4 inches. I did have corrective shoes, but I don't anymore. I need to replace my lost shoes, but it's been so long since I've wore them. I will need to gradually increase the thickness of the sole of one shoe in order to determine the best corrective difference and to minimize pain. I will need a knee pad or brace as wearing corrective shoes makes my knees swell and bruise. I may need special insoles. I may need a new cane. Any money donated will be used to correct this limb length difference and lessen the pain I am in.

No, I am not seeking $5,000 shoes. I can get a decent pair and have them built up for anywhere from $200-300. The biggest cost will be sending them back several times to build up 1/4 inch at a time. Plus insoles and braces and whatever else, it kind of adds up.

I lost my son last year and I'm trying to stop being depressed. It's hard to not be depressed though when I'm stuck on the couch because it hurts to walk. I am trying to save money myself to pay for this, but TBH if I happen to actually save anything, it has to go right back out for my over-due bills.

I know that a lot of people don't have extra money, I'm not asking those people to donate, I'm asking for someone with a little extra to consider helping me out. It really isn't all that much money in order to change a person's life. Any amount will help.

A start

I have bought 2 pairs of shoes to have built up. I've looked online for shoe lift services and it should cost around $75 to get 1/2" added to one shoe. OR there are local places that are around the same price, less shipping and handling, but I don't have

I have bought a "EVENUP" shoe attachment. It has 2 different heights. There's the base and an attachable 1/4" platform like thing that velcro's down to the base. I tried using it right out of the package. Just the bottom part, so I was up about 1/2". It felt strange. . . . .

Why I ask for help.

Update posted by Heather Brown at 09:37 am

I am disabled. I have fibromyalgia, sciatica, one leg longer than the other, migraines, insomnia, and depression. I used to have built up shoes to help with some of the pain. My shoes were destroyed a few years ago and I haven't been able to afford to replace them. I. . . . .
