Please Help BlackJack :(

This is my dog BlackJack. I say my dog, but she actually belongs to my whole family: my mom, dad, Amelia, Crystal, Marc, Raquel, fellow 4 legged friends Pugsley and Buddy. She is loved especially by my 3 year old niece, Mia.

She is my best friend. She's been with me through the lowest parts of my life, and was so much help in getting my life back together. It's hard to put a price tag on that.

And maybe only a few people will understand that connection one has with a pet. But again, she is more than a pet...she is definitely my best friend.

I can write on and on about how she is the best thing in our lives, but I truly believe the stories would be endless on how she has positively affected our lives. At this moment they all flash before my eyes, especially as I realize that her mortality might be near, and you wonder if you have done enough for your pet.

Yesterday, BlackJack was diagnosed with Lymphoma. It's been identified in a few areas of her body. We were able to quickly get her an appointment with the Animal Cancer Centre, at Guelph University, this Wed, Jan 10 to start treatment. They are reputed to be one of the best places to handle her disease. They have informed us that treatment will be very expensive, and provided us with rough estimates.

As with any family member, you would do your best to help them. We are trying to do our best to save our family member...however the costs are pretty overwhelming. I am asking my friends, family and community to please give a hand. I would be most grateful. Most of you who know me, know that I want only the best for my BlackJack. I truly believe that she deserves any opportunity to live a longer happier life.
