Three kittens need treatment for panleukopenia

Everything started on December 22nd when the first kitten, Tigris, showed signs of sickness. After him, on 27th and 28th, Orange and Mini-Jess also got sick.

The disease has spread among the three kittens and all of them were put under care at a veterinary clinic.

Panleukopenia is a disease that attacks the stomach and the intestine of the cat and makes it bleed. It's a contagious disease, specially if the cat did not had the vaccine to protect it. The disease attacks the imune sistem of the cat and slowly all it's vitals start to go down. Without proper care, medication and surveillance, you can only sit and watch them die.

The symptoms of this virus are lethargy, losing appetite, yellow vomiting liquid and diarea with blood. If the cat shows these signs, it's better to put it under immediate care.

My kittens deserve to live and I did everything to help them stay alive.

Tigris, the one who was in an advanced state of disease, is slowly starting to recover and feel a little better. He even started to eat a little. Even tough he shows good signs, until the virus is defeated, it's not a won battle yet. For him I struggled a lot, because at one point he needed blood transfusion. His albumin was going down and also the protein. It was really hard to find a donor, because the Veterinary Blood Bank cannot storage cat blood, because it's a difficult procedure and it's hard to do so.

The other two kittens were detected in time, by doing tests and putting them under immediate care.

All of them are on treatment with interferon and are showing good signs. I hope I will get all of them back home with me.

The costs for them have been really high, the interferon is an expensive medicine and I already bought 4ml of it. Me and my sister already spent over 6000 Romanian Leu for their treatment, about 1200 euro. We still need to keep them under observation at the clinic and we need your help to save them.

Our pets deserve to live and they deserve to fight for them. It's our responsibility to take care of them and never give up.
