On April 25, 2015 a massive earthquake with a moment magnitude of 7.8 hit Nepal. More than 4000 people have been found dead, and its believed that the death tolls could rise to 10,000. Several historical monuments, many a UNESCO World Heritage Site, have come down to rubbles in and around Kathmandu. Its been said that many villages have either been levelled down or buried in the aftermath. Many of these villages are difficult to access by road and we still haven't been able to properly assess the enormity of damage in these remote areas.
While the world is getting together to provide immediate relief to the people of Nepal, we feel, efforts in Viet Nam need to be garnered and guided. A handful of Nepali people met up on April 27, to discuss how we can raise more awareness within Viet Nam, garner funds, and relief materials, and provide a trusted channel to transfer support from Viet Nam to Nepal. This is an online platform where in we can share information about all such efforts.
