Help a Couple gain Knowledge to Help Disabled Children

Help a young couple to attend Conference training in Denmark in August to gain knowledge on how to handle disabled children. http://www.familyhopecenter.com/ptc

Francis and I are a young couple that spare their time and volunteer to help the disable children IN Kenya. We are the founders of Rusinga Disable Project in Kenya that help Families of these children who have disabilities face challenges that are chronic and complex - impacting their quality of life and basic health conditions. Most of these children come from poor and marginal households, often living in pathetic conditions within Rusinga Island .

Education on disability is of paramount importance in rural settings where disability is still associated with bad omens and myths. This isolated region is far from any health facilities; hence rehabilitation needs for these children are inadequate. Several of these children have, pediatric stroke and partial paralysis so they need the services of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech Training Therapy. But any kind of these skills or experience about disabilities is rare.

Francis and Itogether wish to attend Special Needs Conference in Denmark in August 2018 organized by Family Hope Centre (www. familyhopecenter.com). When they attend this conference, they shall learn practical scientific approaches in helping the affected children, gain more knowledge on how to educate and help parents promote functional improvement in their children in the areas of physiological health, physical structure, sensorimotor abilities, behavior, cognition, and communication.

The funds raised shall help in

• Registration for the Training in Denmark
• A return Air ticket for both Sophy and Francis from Kenya to Denmark
• Maintenance pocket fee to help with their one year old Child Brighton James

Upon Return Home, the couple shall train more people/parents to scientifically and objectively evaluate child's specific developmental levels in a variety of sensory, motor and social sub-categories.
