Campaign Story
“Yo tabangi ko be na maka kidney transplant ko, gagmay pa kaayo akong mga anak, gusto pa ko magpakabuhi Tiyo Joel, luya na kaau ko.” (Uncle, please help me, that I can have a kidney transplant. My kids, they’re still very young. I really want live, Uncle. I feel so weak already) - JOHN ANTHONY LIBREA
A loving father, a worthy husband, a good son, a caring brother and a kind-hearted friend to all, these are just a few things to describe who he is to us.
John, 27, a father of two, from Sindulan, Tinaan, City of Naga, Cebu, used to be an employee at a cement company in City of Naga, Cebu. Courageously working for his family, he worked hard to provide a decent future for his sons alongside his wife, Remafe. Who would have thought, John seemed to be a healthy, cheerful man and a renowned Volleyball Player , suddenly backed down.
He has been diagnosed of extremely high level of Creatinine in his blood, caused his kidney to malfunction. He had to quit form work for his condition is very critical. Two years he has been struggling with this situation. Since, he has been undergoing dialysis twice a week, for Php 3,000.00 each session. With only his wife working for the family, it has been very hard to sustain not only their basic needs but also the payment for each dialysis session.
For John is a family to us, we really would like to help lessen his suffering and improve his condition in any way we can. We are campaigning for him so we can raise funds so that he can undergo kidney transplant the soonest possible time. The money that will be raised from this campaign will be used for the following causes:
- Kidney Transplant
- Dialysis sessions before the operation
- Maintenance medicine
It’s the season of giving and sharing. When asked what his Christmas wish is, John replied, “Hinaut unta nga tagaan pa ko sa Ginoo ug chance nga mabuhi para sa akong mga anak.” (I wish that the Lord would still let me live for my kids)
Matthew 25:35
I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink. I was a stranger, and you took me into your home.
We would really appreciate everyone who will support our cause, in kind and in prayers. For it is in giving that we receive.
