Pilot – Converting Dream to Reality

My dream to be a pilot started about 10 years ago, having experienced first-hand the piloting of both A340 and A380 aircraft simulators during my internship. While the experiences were short, encompassing only the aircraft landing phase, it was a career affirmation. Initiating dream into plan, I joined the military as a pilot the following year, but was unfortunate that I was unsuccessful in the initial phase. I then decided to join the national carrier after my university studies, which was a fully sponsored course. However, upon graduation, there were no cadet pilot intakes for a few years. I went on to work as an engineer for 4 years, before the national carrier re-opened their cadet pilot intakes. In the application phase, I've passed both the initial interview and the pilot aptitude test, but was unsuccessful in the final interview where no re-application was permitted. I asked myself if that was the end of my dream.

Essentially, there are 2 ways to become an airline pilot, namely through a fully sponsored course or self-funded course. I've checked other airlines for the option of a fully sponsored course, but I did not meet their pre-requisites. To continue in pursuit of my dreams, self-funding is my only option left.

While my family members are supportive of my decision to pursue my plan, financing this dream remains a huge consideration. With a huge cost of S$241,000, to attain both the Commercial Pilot License (CPL) and Aircraft Type Rating (TR), I earnestly appeal to my potential "fund donators" to lend me a helping hand as I pursue my plan.

S$241,000 is a huge amount, but if you see this campaign and is willing to donate a small sum of S$10 and help me spread my campaign to your friends, I would need just 24,100 donators to reach the goal.
