Hi, my name is Laura Pipolo, I am 22 and I’m from Naples, Italy.
I’m finishing my bachelor degree in Communication at the University La Sapienza in Rome, I’ll graduate in October (really scared and excited at the same time!) with an average of 27.06 on 30.
I chose Rome because it is one of the best Communication faculties in Italy, so I had to move there.
Since 2010 it’s only my father, my sister, my dog and I and even if my father did not let us miss anything, I grew up knowing that he did not spend one day off since I have memory, working hard to give us all the opportunities to study without worries.
On my 3rd year I decided to apply the Erasmus scholarship to help him with the University fees and rents of the rooms.
I won it last year and spent 6 months studying in Valencia in Spain where I learned Spanish, opened my mind and found amazing friends and a fantastic boyfriend =)
In 4 years I changed 6 rooms, 23 roommates, 3 cities, and 2 countries because of my studies.
I moved every year in different rooms so we had not to pay the rent for the month of August (when there are not courses at the University) even if it was stressful and hard for me to find different rooms and moved twice a year.

Now I’m at the end of this journey, but as all the Ends, it is a Start too.
I would love to continue my studies doing a Master Degree in “International cooperation and development”.
But first I found a fantastic two weeks course in “International relations, geopolitics and development cooperation in Mediterranean basin and Eurasia” in Rome, which it would allow me to get deeper in what I’m interested in.

And that’s where the FundRaising comes in!
The course fee is 100€ and the others costs such as a bills, transport, food will be 400€ more.

I spent the last 4 years struggling with rents, tuition fees, train tickets to visit family and boyfriend, bills and all the costs, trying to make it works.
It was difficult and stressful but at the end I can be proud of what I made; my degree will be the icing on the cake.
You don't have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.” Martin Luther King Jr.
That’s what I had in my mind every time it was tough but at the end I can say that the view is worth it.

This course will give me the opportunity to build a further critical point of view which will be crucial for my next university step, the master degree.
My promise to anyone able to donate is that I will commit to successfull completing this course and I will update my accomplished goals.
Every single donation will be greatly appreciated.

I strongly believe in the values of solidarity and support because even with a little help we can change the life of a person.

Thank you for your help, your support is what I need to make another step of the staircase,
Laura.

ITALIANO

Laura.
