MaoMi had the urgent eye surgery on 6 Sep 17 by the only eye specialist currently in Singapore via Amber Vet.
The eye specialist, Dr Oliveira, said the surgery went well. Bill
totalled S$3,537 - - invoice/receipt attached. The second photo shows the sequestrum that
was removed from MaoMi's right eye. The 3rd and 4th photos were taken by
the vet clinic during surgery. The 4th photo shows the eye after the
sequestrum was removed. Sorry if it looks scary/gruesome.
I have booked a slot on 6 Sep for MaoMi's urgent eye surgery.
The graft is a delicate procedure
typically done by an eye specialist. Currently, there is no animal eye
specialists in Singapore. A local vet experienced in eye
treatment and surgery is out to town, too, until early October and fully
booked till about 6 weeks from now. So, the only option for this urgent
surgery is an eye specialist coming to Singapore via Amber Vet from 6-8
Sep. Have booked a surgery slot there on 6 Sep (under MaoMi's other
Update on MaoMi's situation after visit to vet yesterday:
MaoMi's eye surgery now most likely to involve three procedures: (1) fix
a torn jagged third eye lid. (2) surgical removal of sequestrum which
has grown a bit bigger over the last two weeks (3) graft
to patch the hole created by the removal of sequestrum. So MaoMi's
eye surgery now expects to cost S$3K to S$4K. Will be most grateful if you could help to contribute to his medical cost.
Good news: MaoMi's blood test at vet yesterday shows that he responded
well on the hyperthyroid medication he started two weeks ago, and is in
good condition to undergo general anaesthesia for the eye surgery.
